The Blossom Kumamoto is most accessible from Kumamoto Station and connects to the mall. It’s Front Office is very picturesque, with mountains of Kumamoto as backdrop. FO staff has good command of the english language, making communication less difficult. They are not shy to greet guests passing to and fro. Upon inquiry, staff recommended “Liebe” as “steak place,” and we had a blast! Steak was very good and not expensive, allowing us to bring our own wine upon payment of minimal corkage…bravo! The hotel is very secured with a big main door that requires guests’ keycards to open it and an elevator that automatically sets guests to their respective floors. Rooms have separate toilet and bath, well-provided with amenities/toiletries and it is possible to open the window to let Kumamoto’s cool winter breeze (brrrrr🥶) in. There are english-speaking channels available and coffee at the lounge is free-flowing.

Amazing location - you can see the castle from rooms and the 2nd floor outdoor terrace and the hotel is also at the intersection of 2 huge arcades (one nightlife, one shopping). Adorable rooms and overall design. Free lockers for guests! Cool bar / cafe too with great hangout seating. They also do free walking tours, though not in English.

Family room with 4 huge bunk beds was a pleasant surprise ! Spacious living room, too. Toilet and bath / tub are separate . Room has washing machine, microwave oven, induction stove, kettle, and frying pan . No plates, Silver ware. There are plastic cups .

Great location and value for money. Less than 5min walk from nearby underground car park, and entrance under covered arcade. Welcome drink and courtesy umbrellas a nice touch. Got the triple room with the option for two large single beds and one smaller single bed, much more comfy than the usual small double + single default option.

    Yuhoen Fruit Farm to enjoy fruit picking and unlimited serving of fruits picked within an hour. There were Hosui pears, Kyoho and Fuji Minori grapes. Great experience! Kumamoto castle is a must visit as well as to savour horse sashimi.

    Kumamoto city - not much to see.

    Kumamoto city - not much to see. Aso area - nicer - with views, countryside and waterfalls. Accessible only by car so suggest self drive. Treat places like US where you need to drive everywhere to get stuffs. I don't put photos because need to convert to jpg.

    Other than the castle area, there isn't much to see in...

    Other than the castle area, there isn't much to see in Kumamoto itself. But if you enjoy nature, the city is a pretty good jumping off point for visiting areas such as the Aso caldera and the Takachiho Gorge area.

    people unfriendly, better in other cities (and I have traveled to japan over 25 years plus lived in Osaka). Finding the bus station and getting bus info was a pain... the bus office is in the mall upstairs and the mall entrance has NO indication that it continues the bus office...we walked around for ages to locate it .

    1. Everything is great about this hotel, except for the breakfast which do not have many varieties. A few food items were consumed and they were not refilled. 2. Other than breakfast, this is a great hotel to stay, near train station, shopping, etc. 3. Perfect place for those honeymooners.

    Kumamoto is the home of the wonderful and renowned castle and the gateway to the incredible surrounding rural areas with the caldera, Aso town and the volcano. Beautiful area that I wish to return to.
