Our stay at this traditional Japanese house was nothing short of delightful. The moment we stepped in, we were enveloped in a sense of tranquility and authenticity. The house exudes a perfect blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern comforts, ensuring a first-class experience. The amenities provided were exceptional. Every little detail in the house, from the tatami mats to the elegant sliding doors, was in pristine condition. The cleanliness of the space was remarkable and contributed significantly to the peaceful ambiance. Nestled in a quaint and picturesque neighborhood, the location of this house is its crowning glory. It's conveniently situated close to local attractions, offering an immersive experience in Japanese culture and lifestyle.

It was a perfect stay for us, a short train away from Takayama, and easy to travel to Shirawaka after. It is a place you don't want to leave after you get there. Very relaxing, beautiful, the staff were, the food incredible. The rooms were perfect, clean, spacious, the views, the bath, the beds. Everything was perfect!

Edo house is located perfectly between the train station and major sites. It's new, very clean and very tastefully arranged. The common space is clean and comfortable , excellent for working on my computer. Kitchen is well equipped with all new appliances and equipment. I stayed in a single room. Immaculate clean, quiet, very comfortable bed. Although showers are on the lower floor (also clean and new) there was a toilet room and sink conveniently placed by the bedrooms. There is a new very nice cafe connected to the guest house on the ground/first floor. There's a food shop right across the street. If I return to Furukawa I will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

The house was beautiful and beds were comfy, situated on a lone hill in the middle of nowhere. food options were very limited and we had to travel at least 15 minutes to the nearest supermarket. the owner was very responsive, but most communication could be spared if it was written in English in the house rules ( wifi password, garbage disposal, water heater, etc.).

    This city is a little gem of Japanese culture.

    This city is a little gem of Japanese culture. A great size to walk the quaint streets and talk with shopkeepers. We happened on a temple shrine being carried through the streets and a group of men building a structure to carry drums for the upcoming Hilda Festival.
