We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful boutique hotel. It is very centrally located, rooms are tastefully decorated and service is simply excellent. We arrived at night and even despite closed kitchen were able to order something for dinner (most delicious and fresh sea food salad you could imagine!), mini bar is icluded in the price, breakfast was a mix of both buffet and a la carte and employees are very friendly and always smiling!

I wouldn't rush back to Taranto.

I wouldn't rush back to Taranto. The modern town is very built up and feels a bit poor/run-down -- imagine a slightly more upmarket Naples. The old town is very dilapidated once you head away from the castle. Parts are totally derelict with more stray cats that human inhabitants. We chose Taranto as a base to explore Alberobello, Locorotondo and Matera, but would have been better staying somewhere more central.

The old town was really nice, great shops, we wanted to go to De castello(castle) but weren't able as the only had Italian guide and wasn't allowed to walk around ourselves, even though the tourist information Centre said the times on a sheet in English. Disappointed

Not really a "tourist" area - VERY Italian!

Not really a "tourist" area - VERY Italian! Few English speakers and be prepared for second class service in restaurants/bars as a non local/Italian. Otherwise, town center and seafront interesting for a short visit. Parking is very limited and difficult. Public car parks all seem to have guys "helping" you to park, for a fee I suppose? We were lucky to find a very friendly and helpful traffic warden who helped us buy a suitable parking ticket without the input of the resident "parking fairies"! Some nice old buildings and plenty of shops but generally very noisy and with lots of people. Roads in and out of town are busy and congested night and day!

After travelling around Puglia region for 5 weeks we really enjoyed our couple of nights here and could have stayed longer as found it a lot less touristy and so many restaurants to choose that weren’t 95% seafood only 😊

We stayed on the island which is the oldest part of the settlement. If you’re comfortable in the narrow, crowded streets of old Naples you’ll be happy here; if not, look at hotels in the more modern shopping /administration area. The National Archaeological Museum is modern, well displayed and with excellent information panels in good English. Well worth a morning. Access to churches was more hit and miss. Good fish restaurants on the island, though we did think that the more was invested in decor the lesser the cuisine…..

Loved Taranto and the location of this property made our stay extra special, perfect location to everything and good bus route direct to train station. The apartment was really good, exceptionally clean and comfortable and fully refurbished. Our room had a large fridge, kitchenette and great aircon. WiFi was amazing (compared to Australian speeds). The apartment felt safe with a security door (PIN operated) and the bathroom was huge! Book this place with confidence, great communication and a great stay.

Everything was great during our stay at Hotel Europa Taranto. The staff was always very helpful, and a special thanks goes to Alessandra for her kindness. Even though we arrived a bit early and the room wasn’t ready yet, we were warmly welcomed with age-appropriate drinks for the whole family. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we had nothing to complain about — a truly pleasant experience.

A lovely room located just a short walk from the central train station and conveniently near various shops. The spot is perfect for exploring both the historic heart of Taranto and the stunning coastal beaches. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist. Great location in the historical centre of Taranto, not far from train station. The hotel is very beautiful, the bedrooms we had were very cute with a very nice terrace ! The staff was very helpful and accommodating, they helped us find a restaurant, explained the layout of the city etc. Would recommend!
