If you want to avoid the touristy cities in Italy, Parma is the place to visit. We travelled by train from Milan, so no need for a car. Easy to walk around, plenty of history and of course the Food is what the city is most famous for.Guest review bySandys - 8.0

Very hot, so stayed only a few hours in Parma. We went to see the Duomo and the Battistero ((Baptistry). They were both very lovely. I enjoyed the art in the Baptistry (it's worth paying 10 Euros, Sr. rate). We looked for cheese, as that's where Parmaggiano-Reggiano is made. Asked around and found a cheese shop to buy a pound.
