The property is a high level hotel. The rooms are very nicely equipped, having a large TV and also a comfortable large double bed. Although the hotel is not centrally located they offer a free shuttle to and from Naples city center. Mauro, the driver is very helpful with tourists, offering his local knowledge of the history of Naples and places of interest. He is also a very gentle person, like all the other employees,including reception staff, chambermaids and waiters. My next visit to Naples will definitely be at Gold Tower Lifestyle Hotel.

5* for Quality, Cleanliness, Service and Location. Gisella was fantastic on reception - amazing English and so friendly and helpful - the level of communication before during and also after our stay was excellent. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional. Lovely towels, Comfy beds, Nespresso Machine and also a lovely balcony. We stayed in a family suite on the top floor with comfy sofa bed for a child. Huge room, high ceilings and AMAZING bathroom which exceeded expectations. Lots of great features, corner bath and a cool disco light shower!! Breakfast was tasty, varied and lovely coffee! Always served with a smile from ALL the staff. I cannot fault this stay. Highly recommended. Great location for the old town.

Vibrancy, Vespas, Vesuvius

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and funicular railways. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.

At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.

While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of visitable tunnels and even a Graeco-Roman theatre which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!

Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artefacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.

    Busy vibrant city.

    Busy vibrant city. Plenty to do & see as well as gorgeous squares for a coffee & some people watching. Well worth a visit & we will be returning. The underground Naples trip so worth doing, a visit to Procida also worth doing, easy hydrofoil trip. Quick train ride to Herculaneum, definitely worth a visit. Not too busy but plenty to see - we used Get Your Guide for the tour. Naples is totally walkable. You can eat pretty much anywhere tbh. Best pizza was Gino & Toto Sorbillo (main restaurant) astonishingly yummy 😋

    The food and drinks in the city are excellent and very affordable. However, the service is terrible — staff are rude and unhelpful. The city is extremely dirty, with very few trash bins available. Public transportation is poor: buses are dirty, drivers often ignore pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, and almost no one can speak English to provide guidance. Even at major tourist sites, English is rarely spoken, making it difficult for visitors to navigate. In summary, while food and drink prices are attractive, the city’s cleanliness, service, and public transportation leave much to be desired.

    I’ve been to Italy 3 times, this is my first time at Naples.

    I’ve been to Italy 3 times, this is my first time at Naples. I think I like a mixture of things at Naples. Naples was added as a last minute thing because I originally was going to Puglia after my stay at Almafi Coast. A direct train access to Pompeii is a big plus. Easy access to metro stations and you get to see Italy as it really is. Pompeii is well preserved and you can imagine the bustling activities of Roman Pompeii.

    Pompei and Vesuvius were great.

    Pompei and Vesuvius were great. The city of Naples however is not. I fear for this apparently lawless city. Scruffy, unloved and neglected the beautiful architecture is rotting before your eyes, if you can make it out under the many inane layers of ugly graffiti. The infrastructure is crumbling. The centre of the town, particularly the historic old town, is an unfriendly, risky battle zone between bandits on scooters, cars, scam artists, trashy shops and a disinterested unfriendly population. I would avoid it completely and if you want to visit Pompei and Vesuvius then stay elsewhere, Sorento etc. Beyond the town centre to south and west is more pleasant and better kept with Chiaia a nice area and the wealthy zone around the west of the bay and into the hills is better and safer.

    Naples is a corrupt town. Check Google before using a cab. The taxi drivers will shamelessly RIP YOU OFF. I paid 42 euro for a 10 minute ride to the airport and 30 euro for a ride from train station to the ferry docks. Ask up front, verify they take credit cards and BARGAIN if you need to. Worse than Mexico!

    I have found Naples to be a welcoming and energetic city.

    I have found Naples to be a welcoming and energetic city. I never felt unsafe walking around during the day and the streets are lively and interesting. There are so many wonderful cultural sights, from the numerous churches to the incredible archeological museum. It is true that it's crowded and noisy so maybe not for the faint hearted, but I have always found a visit to Naples very rewarding!

    It is a very good location, close to the central station and close to delicious restaurants. And it was the cleanest accommodation during my trip to Italy. The breakfast served in the morning so I can eat comfortably in my room. The staff was also very kind. Thanks to the staff here, Naples is better to me. I definitely want to come back to Naples, and if I come again, I want to stay at this hotel.

    Good location, easy access, the owner is very helpful, he sent the check in information very clearly, so it was easy. Also he was always quick to reply despite the time. I really appreciate that. Most importantly, unlike many other hotels in Italy, here we had the option to accept the city tax with card, which was really helpful when we were out of cash.

    Very nice place in the busy centre of Naples, but very quiet too. If you are very tall, you might have to duck under the shower and the doorway to the - but that's South Italy for you. Conversely, the bed was very nice and large enough for a tall person. I experienced some hiccups with the wifi, but the hostess was quick to fix them.
