Beautiful old town, with a huge number of restaurants and bars. Food was excellent throughout. Staff everywhere were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to help. We visited in September and it was very busy - We can only imagine it is too crowded and too hot in peak summer months. Be aware that beaches are small, but there are a number of them, within walking distance, or by taxi to larger beach clubs. The old town is really beautiful, with tiny streets, squares and alleyways. Monopoli was a perfect base for us to see Puglia. Loved getting lost in the maze of narrow streets in the Old Town. Recommended Calette Torre Cintola to a couple staying at our hotel and they loved it as well. The old town is super cute! some great artisan stores and even a great vintage clothing store! The dining scene is excellent and ranges from rustic homey feel to more upmarket but all very affordable! Great wines flow from all bars and restaurants. Monopoli is a really great vibrant little seaside town and makes an excellent base to explore Puglia. As a welcoming present we got a fresh Foccacia, that was really delicious! Die Apartment has a roof terrace that is always open for you, great to relax! It is also really close by to the centro storico, just about 10 minutes walking. Stefano also knows all the good places and was gibing us great recommendations.
