Mondovi is a a little crown jewel of Italy, very nice old town on two levels. a lot of history is contained within its walls. Make sure to visit the upper level too, landmarked by the Belvedere clock tower. Don't miss out the Dolcetto Langhe and local wines ! Mondovi is very clean and most buildings well kept. Shopping and restaurants and cafes were plentiful, and prices were very reasonable. We encountered no other tourists, which was nice, but we sometimes had difficulty communicating because we don’t speak Italian. The hotel serves as a perfect base to explore Mondovi and around the bucolic Piedmont region. If one travels by car, there is a spacious underground parking lot.
