It’s a lovely medieval town close to a large lake that has other equally pretty towns worth a visit. The lake is very quiet out of season and in the summer is probably busy with boats and other traffic. Restaurants in Bracciano are reasonable and served good food for a variety of tastes. Bracciano is vey good for a day trip from Rome, to visit the Orsini-Odescalchi Castle inside: furniture (I love the ‘baldachino’ beds), guns and armors, and for photos of the lake and medieval town from the terraces. In the evening there’s a special lighting for a picture of the Castle. Amazing town, high up in the mountain overlooking Lago Bracciano. Recommend a car, but there’s limited parking nearby. Walk up lake is steeeeep! Do not try to walk on the road, because there are no sidewalks. There is a VERY STEEP paved short-cut.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
A beautiful romantic place near Rome.
A beautiful romantic place near Rome. The accessibility to Rome by train or car is perfect. The train goes to Rome after 30 minutes. By car you can reach the city using the motorway in 40 min. If you park your car in the parking house at the Jonio or Laurentina metro terminus, you have the opportunity to explore Rome in the evening until 0:15, when the garages close. Parking costs just 1.5 EUR. However, the town of Bracciano itself is worth the tour, including the castle and the shores of the volcanic lake.Guest review byViktorCzech Republic

As a couple, the apartment was very spacious and had everything you'd need for your stay. If you don't have a rental car, the location is great -- less than 2 minutes to the train station, 5 minutes into the centre of town, and (if you don't mind walking!) about 15 minutes to the lake. Special shoutout to Enrica, the host, who is fantastic, and was exceptionally helpful when we had some questions and very accommodating. The appartment was very spatious and offered a number of facilities including washing machine and a fully equipped kitchen.
