Absolutely gorgeous property, exceeded our expectations. We had 2 rooms and a bathroom, nicely furnished and spotless key clean. The pool and terrace area were fabulous - plenty of Sun loungers and umbrellas. Breakfast was delicious, we also had dinner which was amazing.

An absolutely delightful experience. The location is central in the Town of Alvito for easy access. The continental breakfast at Di Tullio is wonderful. Make sure to buy some of their delicious torrone. The B&B is part of the historical Mazzenga Palazzo.

This historic home is a beautiful place to stay in San Donato! Roberta and her best friend Bartolomeo took very good care of us! The restaurant serves a very nice dinner and breakfast. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

We randomly selected this location as a halfway stop on our road trip from southern Puglia to Tuscany. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the accommodation, the village and the area were so beautiful and exceeded our expectations! We wished we could have stayed longer. The hosts were very friendly and the history of the Palazzo and their family is very interesting. The rooms are historic, but with all modern comforts including modern bathrooms and comfortable beds, desk, storage, small fridge, iron/board etc. Everything is impeccably clean. The breakfast terrace is beautifully furnished and the view over the mountain valley is spectacular. The village itself is very pretty and charming and we loved getting a drink at the bar next to the Palazzo Ducale in the old centre, just two minutes walk from the hotel. The locals were also very friendly, a couple of them pointing out historic details to us. They seemed quite proud of the history, including the remains of a Roman cistern. Highly recommend this place to those looking for the road less traveled. We definitely want to go back.

    We went to Alvito to trace my husbands Ancestors and found it to be a charming, beautiful, friendly little town, clinging Picturesquely to the hillside and looking onto ever changing mountain views. Excellent ice cream at Di Tullio and drinks at Caffe dei Portici. A place to slow down and relax.

    Alvito is a nice little rustic town.

    Alvito is a nice little rustic town. We stayed nearby (5 min drive) away. It was great for restaurants and beautiful scenery. The town is spread up the side of a mountain. It was like driving around in a movie set.

    We were based in a Boutique Hotel some 4km from Alvito town...

    We were based in a Boutique Hotel some 4km from Alvito town centre. Surrounding the Area we established Good Quality and economic Restaurants that were 5 - 8 km walking from our Hotel. (more than 12 target locations) and the walks were a great way to generate an appetite. A local taxi company hooked up with us to then return us to the Hotel daily. The rural settings, the changes in level and the quiet lanes made the walking really enjoyable.
