We only spent 1 night and 1 lunchtime in Borgarnes, so my experience was limited. We would have loved to stay longer and explore more! The walk along the seaside is beautiful and a great way to get around. The pool with its hot tubs is excellent - just go here and skip the pricey spas! The town feels so safe and there are some lovely bakeries and cafes. The Settlement Museum is well worth a visit!Guest review byAlexisUnited States - 4.0

Small uninteresting town. Better to continue on to Reykjavik or stay somewheres before like Bifrost. We ate at Baza Bistro just down from Hotel Borgarnes. It was great. Food good, very generous serves and friendly staff.Guest review bySusanAustralia - 10.0

This place was a gem of a find, fantastic scenery, and peaceful. The host was great and the cabin had everything we needed. The town is just fifteen minutes away for groceries etc. A bonus are the farmers dogs who come into the cabin deck and want to play or just have their tummy tickled. The city is the historical center of some of the early settlers so it was interesting to explore. It has a number of good restaurants and plenty of other amenities like gas stations. A good place to stay- friendly, clean, quiet, etc. The jacuzzi and sauna were a nice touch and enjoyed after a day of trekking and driving. Borgarnes is nearby for food and such. The Conti breakfast was great - lots of healthy and tasty choices, and the coffee was good. All in all, thumbs up!Guest review byMichaelCanada

The staff were brilliant and were so helpful when we had an issue that needed tools to fix. The views of the mountain range are breathtaking. It was a great choice for my first stay in Iceland. The location was perfect; not far from Reykjavik airport, near the peninsula, and close to the Rejkholt valley for exploring.
