I had a lovely stay at Aura Retreat. It was the perfect place to relax for a few days between two retreats. Sujith was very helpful and welcoming, and made sure I had a comfortable stay. The balcony looks out over a lush area with palm trees and it was a nice place to relax in the morning and unwind in the evening. The location is also very good, only 50 metres from Lighthouse Beach and the sea. Great laundry service.

I had a great stay here. The hotel is a short walk from the beach and shopping/restaurant area. All staff took pride in maintaining the outside area including the pool and the room was spacious and clean. The man on reception was friendly and helpful. The wifi worked perfectly. I was so content that I extended my stay.

For those who like silence and privacy - just the best hotel in it's price category. What is special? Tbe hotel has 5 floors with only 3 rooms on each floor around the spacy hall with refrigerator. Very rare you meet the neighborous, so you feel like home. The rooms are big, the ceilings are high and the balconies are spacy. We do not use AC so it was important for us. The beds are comfy, the linen is new. Whatever you need - administration is ready to help you. Exchange rate was rbe best in Kovalam. We booked 3 days and stayed for 2 weeks...will be happy to come again!

    There’s crazy traffic on the roads - no rules, no traffic lights (maybe just one!), yet no crashes, no accidents, and no pedestrians getting run over! 🤪 There are lots good fish restaurants, but sanitation is still questionable.

    Compared to Varkala I found it easy.

    Compared to Varkala I found it easy. It’s well geared-up for Europeans and the shopping is great. However, it’s a small place so ten days was far too long for me to be there. On the whole it is cheaper than Varkala and although dangerous for swimming, it is manageable, unlike Varkala where I was unable to actually swim for five days

    2 or 3 days is enough for a short break in the beach area as its quite small.Nice restaurants and shops,beach and sea clear.Sun loungers and parasols cheap for the day .Street sellers can be pushy and too many but they just trying to get business.

    Good place to visit but stay in the hotels on the main road. Enjoy sea food in the restaurants on the beach. The beach needs clean up of rubbish. The best place to eat was Lonely Planet and Jeevan restaurant for beer and food.

    Kovalam is a nice beach.

    Kovalam is a nice beach. I had visited this place almost 40 yrs back as a kid but this time was a difference experience altogether. It is great if you are able to hire a car here and then move around. The experience from lighthouse on the lighthouse beach is something unique. The beach itself is nice and clean and you do get beds at INR 100 where you can rest and put your clothes while you take a small dip in the sea. In case you are looking for vegetarian food, the options are less but not non-existent. Overall a very nice stay.

    The place exceeded our expectations in all ways - be it food or the rooms or the service. The AC room size was huge and the décor was very nice. The Non AC room too was very spacious. The staff was very helpful and made it feel like home. Their food was delicious and at the same time hygienic. Cleanliness was taken care off and the overall vibe of the place was welcoming. Wished we stayed for more days. Beach was within 5 min walking distance. Unlike most Kovalam hotels, you can get an auto/car right outside the hotel.

    This hotel is nicely located I spend 2 day here with my family and the owner is so humble and helpful .There is no Room service even u have to arrange drinking water for yourself . They arrange early morning shared taxi to airport for me at reasonable fare. Its sea facing room have balcony were u can see the beach and even from your room lighthouse is visible. Its location gives u a special views and touch with beach.

    Best beach resort, I have visited till now in India. I had been to Taj Fisherman Cove, Taj Fort Aguda and Taj Exotica(Goa) and other 5 star beach properties. Nothing, beats this resort in term of location and view of sea. Staffs are courteous and special mention to "Manju", she was outstanding on the service.
