Davangere is a vibrant city located in the heart of Karnataka, making it a convenient stopover for travelers heading towards Hubli, Pune or Mumbai. I often visit Davangere on my way through, and one of the highlights of my visit is enjoying the famous Benne Dosa—a delicious, butter-rich version of the traditional dosa that the city is well-known for. Historically, Davangere gained prominence as a textile hub and was once called the "Manchester of Karnataka." Today, it continues to grow as a center of education, commerce, and culture, while retaining its charm through iconic food and warm hospitality.

There is no attractions in this town except Benne dosa hotels. You can visit this place if it is absolutely necessary. I stayed there because I had to take a break while driving. Otherwise I would not have stayed overnight.

If there is no specific work, why would I go again ? Location of Shanti Comforts is convenient and walking from Railway Station but the sign board over AIRTEL office on main Road would have been better for locating / reaching it; good Eating place is just behind it. Getting around in Davangere is easy and affordable. District Courts and Shopping area were all that I visited without much cost.

Good clean city, Did not venture near the bus station and other old areas that are crowded. good places to visit - Harihareshware temple, Bathi Hanuman temple, Musafir Khana in Santebennur and the big Lake Sule Kere. Benne Dose is a good try in this place, Lots of institutions and student community.

Thye city was a night halt for my South India Bike ride. There is a very famous Dosa Resturant recommended by the Hotel and I really enjoyed the quality. Its called Sri Guru Kottureshwara Butter Dosa. Outstanding
