Beautifully restored Chettinad mansion. Rooms were very spacious with lovely period furniture. Beautiful old photographs of the owners family are displayed through the property and it adds a unique homely touch and takes us back in time. We tried the vegetarian Chettinad saapadu which was awesome. We took a nice evening walk around the village with Mr. Siva who also gave us tips for sightseeing around the region and even arranged for us to see the owners other mansion in a nearby village. The staff went out of the way to make us comfortable.

Vernacular Architecture Gems with Contemp Interior, load of village & Myanmar props as one of owner couple are an architect & art collector. Nice design solution to break through original physical constraint. Nice lighting throughout. Best accommodation in Chettinad as compared with others in vicinity. Half-board meal are impressive.

    Between Tanjore and Madurai, Chettinadu is an ideal stop for those like us who do not like to spend so much time on the road. Beautiful palaces and temples to discover. Most of the time, hotels proposed very interesting activities and visits.
