Beautiful hotel in a quiet and quaint fishing village. The view from the balcony was amazing, the room was massive with a very comfortable bed. The beach is very close and there is a sauna you can reserve (separate from property) right on the beach. We all got upset stomachs from the fish and chips we ate at the local (recommended) restaurant, so I can’t recommend the eating suggestions, but there’s a nice bakery/coffee shop right across the street.

Location took us a little while to find but was lovely when we found it. Breakfast was great, room very comfortable. Geraldine, the owner, was very helpful in our search for the 'final resting place' of long gone ancestors and, if you read this, Geraldine, the Red Book Shop owner is posting us a copy of the book we wanted. Many thanks for your help. Great stay.

When we arrived our host made us feel immediately welcome and comfortable. She gave us lots of suggestions on things to do and even looked up where we could find sporting events nearby. The house is beautifully decorated and spotless.

This private studio is in a separate cottage of its own. Most anything you need to get settled is there. Full kitchen facilities a king bed and full bathroom with a shower. There is a table to eat at and lounge chairs to watch TV or look at the lovely garden area out your door. The unit is beside the home of the host and is in a gated yard. Very safe and secure. Our hosts were very accommodating and responsive. We were welcomed with fresh scones, butter and jam. If I were to come this way again I would not hesitate to book here again.

The cottage was beautifully presented and had everything we needed as a family of 5 to be more than comfortable. The shower was such a treat, better than ours at home! The whole cottage was cosy and warm with plenty of equipment, like a home from home. The owners were so friendly and even showed the kids around the farm. They were able to advise us of good local places to visit, and we took their recommendations. We wish we could’ve stayed longer and plan to return in the summer.

The cottage was exactly what needed, and more. We needed accommodations that were close to the ferry terminal, accepted pets and were comfortable. Mo’s Cottage was all of that—plus it was adorable and the owners were attentive and warm. Our only regret was that our stay was so short! We hope to come back:)

While a great location, i feel that over the years Kilmore Quay has lost the allure it once had. No decent hotels (Wooden House = Accommodation only / Saltees Hotel = Glorified motel and not great but good food). Many places in Kilmore Quay have closed or are simply seasonal and limited serving time. Kehoe's Pub is a saving grace for this community but again, limited opening times and serving of food (always reserve on Sat and Sun). Silver Fox restaurant has been closed years and remains vacant to this day (April 2024), such a loss. Chipper is great but you don't necessarily want that for lunch and dinner! Kilmore Quay has become a pass through stop off for a walk and ice cream but not an over night hotel stay location in my book as the accommodation available is terrible unless you go Air BNB or private holiday rental. Sad to say, we'll be going elsewhere in future for a quick short break - lacking loads but has a great deal to offer for a pass through.

Kilmore Quay is a great fishing village location with stunning picturesque scenery, walks and views. There are a couple of local pubs but it is limited on the evening dinner meal front if you are looking for good quality fresh food - I'd suggest Marry Barry's (who generally provide a courtesy mini bus shuttle from where ever you are locally) Marry Barry's has top notch sea food and other options, simply amazing place, friendly and efficient staff and the shuttle is a great idea. Kilmore Quay is a fab tranquil getaway, not overly built up, not commercialised and an active fishing village that adds to the authenticity of the location. A must for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and simply relax.

Nice location, good for activities. Lovely walks and swims. Some nice food options. We ate at Mary Barry's in Kilmore and availed of a free shuttle there and back which made everything so easy for our group of 6. Dinner was delicious. Accommodation was great for a group too. We stayed in a apartment that slept 4 and studio that slept 2 .

    Absolutely loved Kilmore Quay.

Absolutely loved Kilmore Quay. We were last there 24 years ago and always meant to go back. The harbour is picturesque with the saltee islands in the distance. There are boat trips out to the islands which we did years ago. The beach is beautiful. There are cute little gift shops and plenty of choice for eating either take away or dining. People are friendly and welcoming. The thatched cottages are so quaint. There are boats for fishing trips. Kehoes pub is great craic and even in promptu sing along with lovely Laura the singing giggling bar maid. Every single one of the bar staff were friendly and welcoming. The sunset we witnessed was beautiful. Anyone should consider themselves lucky to visit such a lovely place.

We had a lovely stay at this peaceful accommodation overlooking a quiet field with horses – the perfect spot to unwind. It’s just a short drive from Kilmore Quay, making it a great base for exploring the area. The host, Phil, was absolutely amazing – so warm and welcoming. We were greeted with freshly baked scones on arrival and again before we left, which was such a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend!
