Location is great, close enough to Ubud so you can visit everything and far enough so you can feel in the middle of the jungle. The view both from the rooms and common areas is gorgeous. All staff are so nice, always helping you with any recommendations needed.

Just a fanastic place to stay at. We stayed for 7 nights and had the best service with a very warm, friendly and personal service from the whole staff. Very convenient location with 10 minute walk to the famous Yoga Barn. I would also recommend you the restaurant at Sabana Ubud. We had several lunches and dinners and the food is very good and very, very affordable. You pay about twice the price in any other restaurant, but were the food is not as good. Last, value for money is exceptional. Will for sure stay here again.

Staff were amazing. The breakfast is included and is outstanding. You can have it delivered to your private patio. There is a shuttle for free that takes you downtown. The hotel has an art gallery, a spa and an outdoor yoga space. Could not be nicer! Restaurant is also incredible and well priced.

Stayed with my one year old. No stairs which makes it stroller friendly and a huge plus. Small but Very Clean territory and comfortable new clean large rooms… was super ideal to bond with my active one year old. The territory was just perfect for my toddler not to get into trouble. FAQs about hotels in Ubud

Bali's Peaceful Retreat

If you are seeking a hideaway from Bali’s chaotic Kuta, Ubud provides a welcome respite with its secluded paths, calming temples and specialised spa resorts. Surrounded by rice paddies, coconut trees and lush forests of green, Ubud is seen as the cultural centre of Bali.

The road leading up to Ubud features little villages specialising in handicrafts like Celuk (silver jewellery), Batuan (paintings) and Mas (wood carvings). Ubud, itself, produces all sorts of handicrafts in its peaceful foothills. There are also numerous art galleries, workshops and courses on offer for the budding artist.

The Monkey Forest is a popular tourist drawcard with its ravenous monkey population lunging at anything resembling food. The 9th-century Goa Gajah, or Elephant Cave, showcases the island’s historic past and there is the regular Ubud Market for modern-day souvenir hunters.

Ubud is a place for relaxation and many yoga and meditation centres have developed over the years on Indonesia’s most popular island. Booking.com offers a range of guest houses, villas, bungalows and world-class resorts with spa facilities or pool.

Ubud has serious traffic congestion and crossing the road...

Ubud has serious traffic congestion and crossing the road becomes a practiced art. Pavements are a real problem as they are narrow and badly broken up, tripping hazards are commonplace. The roadside kerbing is much higher than normal so for anyone struggling with any type of walking disability, beware. Basically there are just too many tourists and day trippers which makes for even more traffic and crowding. Feels like I should have come here 25 years ago and would have found a completely different vibe. Taxi journey to and from the airport took two and a half hours through stop-start heavy traffic and a million scooters.

The area was too busy for us, maybe because we stayed right in the centre of ubud although it’s very convenient to reach places we want to visit. But people are lovely. A lots of unforgettable cultures performances and events and we felt safe. Our Bali Dinner experience at SUN SUN WAROENG was excellent and would definitely going back to visit again.

Traffic in Ubud is worse towards the evening, Govt really should plan for any bye-pass to those travellers who are passing through only. We had food in few places where veg food was available. Getting around by Bike Taxi is the best way and it should be promoted actively by Govt. Visited Tirtha Empul temple, and next time would plan for Mt Batur. Monkey forest is waste of time but gain good amount of Oxygen. Balinese house visit is typical, some knowledge gain and some money drain to buy / drink the coffee. Swing / rice terrace is good photo opportunities, but if you have vertigo issues, knee issues, then just stay put at the top and have some snacks/juices.

Ubud is a truly enchanting destination that captures the heart of Bali’s culture and natural beauty. Surrounded by lush rice terraces and tropical forests, it offers a perfect balance of tranquility and vibrancy. The local people are warm, welcoming, and deeply connected to their traditions, making every encounter feel genuine. The food scene is exceptional, from authentic Balinese dishes to creative modern cuisine, reflecting the area’s rich cultural roots. I last visited Ubud in 2019.

I last visited Ubud in 2019. The traffic then was nothing like on this visit. As a pedestrian, I felt as if I was having to navigate an obstacle course along a narrow street. Ubud streets are not designed for the volume of traffic with which they are inundated every day now, much less the huge four-wheel drives and hordes (literally) of motor bikes and scooters. Yes, the shopping is excellent for the sheer variety of stuff available, if that's your thing.

10 out of 10 for sure. Everything even more beautiful than on the pictures. We had villa with private pool and it definitely worth for the money! Helpful staff, great food, jungle view, privacy. We felt very welcomed. We had an issue with our village after one night, so we were immediately moved to different villa and we got complementary couple massage! Best massage on Bali! We loved every moment of our stay. Walking distance from Ubud city center through rice fields. Great evening venues in the hotel - we saw Balinese dancers by the dinner.

One of the most beautiful hotels we've ever stayed in. Breathtaking views from the pool and restaurants. All the rooms are spacious and comfortable but the lower villas and rooms have better views over the valley. Staff were personable and attentive. Honestly the best hotel in Ubud in our opinion and highly recommend if you would like to treat yourself in the beauty and tranquility of the Ubud jungle.

This little oasis sits in a quiet area just south of downtown Ubud. Facilities are well maintained and our villa with private pool was spacious and perfectly comfortable. Driving into the city takes about 10 minutes and we had no trouble getting cabs. There's a supermarket just outside the entrance, and the hotel is in walking distance to the superb restaurant Wedja.

Everything! We had a 2-bedroom presidential pool villa with jacuzzi and rice terrace for one whole week and it was far and away the best place we have EVER stayed in Bali, after many trips where we always visit multiple hotels/resorts/villas.
