I recently stayed at the art'otel Zagreb, Powered by Radisson Hotels, and had a very pleasant experience overall. The hotel is beautifully designed, blending modern aesthetics with artistic touches that create a truly unique ambiance. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with all the amenities you would expect from a top-tier hotel. The location is excellent, allowing easy access to many of Zagreb's main attractions, making it a great base for exploring the city. The staff were friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests. I also appreciated the comfortable beds and the high level of cleanliness maintained throughout the hotel.

FAQs about hotels in Zagreb

Great Opening to Croatia

The only capital city in the world with a ski world cup race, Zagreb sits over 394 ft above sea level and has typical Central European architecture of cobblestone streets, impressive public buildings and well laid out landscaped grounds.

Built around two medieval settlements with the Upper Town (Gornji Grad) being its core, the city skilfully combines modern attractions with well-established favorites. Start your day at the Museum of Contemporary Art, then make a stop at the Zagreb Cathedral or make a wish at the Old Town Gate. The locals say it will be granted!

For a more relaxing time, Zagreb has two lakes - Jarun and Bundek - both offering recreational facilities and hosting festivals and events. After having fun in the sun, you might want to hit the shopping at the colorful markets and small boutiques selling local crystal, ceramics and cravats.

To get a different perspective on the city, climb Medvenica, a mountain over 3280 ft tall overlooking Zagreb, and admire the views while sipping famous Croatian wine. And while you’re there, don’t forget to visit the Medvedgrad fortress.

Zagreb Airport is just 11 miles and a short bus ride from the city. Whether you’re looking for an elegant hotel, classic apartment or cozy hostel, Booking.com has about 80 accommodations options for you to choose from!

One day in Zagreb is more than enough. One should go to other cities or take day tours after that. People are not friendly at all. I did not expect that cause I believe they are quite dependent on tourism.

First time, independent visitors staying for only a day should IMHO walk up both of the hills in old Zagreb. The areas around both of them are interesting but the "lesser hill" (the one without the cathedral) was to me the more enjoyable. Walking back down hill from the lesser hill, i stumbled onto a pleasant and undeveloped and totally unexpected wild and wooded section alongside the staircase.

A small city which is not really as orientated as Split or Dubrovnik and not at other capital cities (a plus in many ways). Many beautiful spots though and very nice people. We took the hop on hop off bus as we only had one full day - really worth it! Also we went on a Sunday and most of the shops were closed - but the museums we chose were open. Cheaper than the other cities we visited with lots of very good restaurants.

A day trip to Samobor from Zagreb was a 55minute bus ride. The historic centre with the war tunnels, the shopping and the restaurants around Kapitol will keep one busy for at least 3 days. Trams around the city are very well connected till late at night.

We spent three days (two nights) in Zagreb which was just enough to enjoy the city and its attractions. However on Sunday everywhere is closed inducing most restaurants, so there is not much to do if you are there on Sunday. Shops open from Monday to Saturday. The public tram system is excellent and easily manageable using the tram map. Food and restaurants are not that expensive and there are enough clothes shops to chose from, the reasonably priced to the high end type.

Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. The room was very spacious, equipped with all you need from a hotel room, spotless clean and very stylish. Especially the bed exceeded our expectation and was very comfortable. Location is perfect for anybody traveling via the bus station just across the street. The city center is easy to reach by tram (stop is 2 min away). Also breakfast (buffet) was very good! Thumbs up, full recommendation!

An unforgettable stay in the heart of Zagreb! Miss Lavinija was incredibly kind and welcoming, allowing us to check in early and making us feel truly cared for—she's the best receptionist I've ever met! The hotel is spotless, beautifully located in the city center, and the rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views. Breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zagreb! Hotel staff were helpful, friendly, and professional. Hotel location is within walking distance of the centre and has a tram stop outside. (You can pay the tram driver in cash!) The room was very clean and fairly comfortable. Good breakfast and restaurant has a good choice of food. Quirky foyer. Easy to get a taxi or uber to and from the airport. Tea and coffee in the room, which was great for us tea drinkers in Europe
