We loved the old style character of this hotel which felt very much in keeping with Antigua and its history. This hotel is perfectly based to explore Antigua on foot. The grounds of this hotel are spectacular! It is right by the dock, so it is easy to walk to the property. The restaurant is very reasonably priced, considering that there are not a lot of options for dining (we were on foot). The food is exceptional, and plenty of it comes from their organic garden, of which we had a lovely tour. The hotel website offers full details of how community minded and eco-friendly this business is. The pool looks odd because it is dark. However, I imagine it helps heat the water, along with the solar panels. If you are looking for a couple of days in paradise, this is the place. And the view from the restaurant 🤩

San Rafael is one of the most beautiful properties I have had the pleasure of staying at. The property is stunning in itself and kept so beautifully. The bed was luxurious and comfortable. The a la carte breakfast menu is an amazing touch and served in the beautiful open garden space is even more perfect.
