Vrachasi is a peaceful village in the mountains close to the north coast of Crete, and not too far from the beaches of Agios Nichalaos on the east side. You can stay there to enjoy quiet mornings and even evenings, and take day trips in all directions. We enjoyed having dinner at Anavlochos taverna, where the menu changes daily and is very traditional local fare cooked in home style. We also had dinner and lunch in the coast, for more variety. Except for the main road, the streets are narrow. We could park there, but for many, parking at the edge of the village would be easier.
