Volos is a really nice and vibrant city. There are a lot of coffee shops, bars, taverns, and restaurants that can cover every taste. The Pelion nearby is pretty easy to reach and offers a combination of picturesque villages and nature. This time, during our stay, we visited Mezen, Filarakia, and Anemi. A trip to the east coast of the peninsula is a must, thanks to passing and parking in beautiful villages built on the sides of the mountains, the road is in very good condition with twists and clear signage. A cruise along the remote beaches of the island with caves and refreshing swimming. The water is clean and warm, and it's not crowded if you prefer a quiet and peaceful vacation. There are many beaches and places to visit, and nothing is far away. We found Volos to be a very nice town.
We found Volos to be a very nice town. It has good walks and a fine shopping centre. It is not crowded with tourists like some other places and there are so many restaurants and cafes. People are friendly and it was so nice to see a town that kept it's Greek characteristics. Unfortunately Volos doesn't have a good flight connection from Athens and we had to hire a taxi, a bit costly but it was quite pleasant to travel in a comfortable luxury vehicle with a very friendly driver.Guest review byBaker - 8.0

I was already been in Volos, couple of times but every time I discover something new. As you already know, Volos is the main harbour in this part of Greece, so the main ferry departure starts from here for the Sporades islands. The bay of Volos is huge with some Islands inside. If you plan to sailing Sporades, consider that you will spent so much time to reach the Skiatos island, so we decided to catch the ferry and start our sailing week from Skiatos.Guest review byMiloradSerbia - 10

Met by friendly reception staff who allowed us to leave our luggage whilst we did some sight seeing. Later we went to our room with a sea view, which was accurate. The room was large enough, the bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. We left early in the morning for the ferry which was a 5-10 minute walk away.
