We love the place, the great attention to detail you have put in the hotel design and architecture, the fountains with metal structures, and the stylish rooms not very large but decorated with a lot of taste and thought. We love the breakfast area just a few meters away from the spectacular sea. We love fresh and exquisitely cooked food; we love the rich selection of fresh fruits and the taste of the coffee. We love the genuine people we have interacted with, seemingly hand-picked by business leaders with high emotional intelligence and standards. We are in love with the spectacular sea and with the beach which, although tiny is well endowed with more than enough sun beds and umbrellas. And, yeah, did I already mention that we love the sea and the beach? ;) We love how the spectacular rocky beach is hit by the waves splashing around and how the sand is temporarily or permanently overtaken by the sea water. I’ve chosen this place compared with more than 20 places and Porto Platanias Beach Luxury had the best report Quality/Price – having a discount from the Hotel + 15% discount from Booking + free Taxi offer from the airport to the hotel. We have seldom been to the same places before. However, Hotel Porto Platanias Beach Luxury is a place that we will certainly come back to. Special thanks to Dora and Marion for being very patient and helpful in organizing the trips and getting the bus schedule. Many thanks to the maid from room 206. Exceptional service 😊. Breakfast could be compared with Grecotel breakfast style. In my opinion, Phos Hotel is simply the best hotel in Agia Marina – hands down. No other hotel in the area can match it in terms of design, equipment, location, or service. I’ve stayed in around 10 different hotels here over the years, and nothing comes close to the level of comfort and quality Phos offers. I’ve known this hotel since before it officially opened, and I’m still impressed every time I visit. Everything is well thought-out, modern, and beautiful – from the rooms to the shared spaces. The staff is exceptional: warm, attentive, and always professional. The location is ideal – close to the beach, restaurants, and shops, yet peaceful and quiet. If you’re looking for a place that truly combines style, comfort, and authentic Greek hospitality, Phos is the one. I can’t recommend it enough – this is where you want to stay in Agia Marina.

Kalimera! The hotel is perfect for calm vacationing. The beach is big and spacious, without a lot of sun beds or people, the view from the beach is amazing, especially at sunset. There are a lot of comfort sun beds around the place, you can take it whenever you want and chill out in the shadows. The bar serves different drinks, snacks, pizza, fruits. There is mini market where you can buy everything without going into town. Chania is reachable by bus, which goes every 15min until night. Lidl is also across the road. The personnel is amazing, everyone is trying to help, they speak perfectly English and German. When eating in the hotel, there is a variety of choices, including some kretan local food. We were never hungry after meals:) The room was good, although the ceiling was not so soundproof, you can hear everyone doing their stuff above you. We had some problems with air condition, but stuff helped us on the same day. At the reception you can get any information about car renting, excursions etc. and they will definitely help you with your reservations. If there will be another journey to Crete, we are definitely going to choose this hotel again! Efharisto!

Everything was perfect! I requested an early check Inn and our room was ready from 11 am. Location - right next to the sea, but also close to shops and a bus stop. Hotel perfectly clean, rooms cleaned daily. Hotel area with lots of flowers and trees The pool is perfectly clean, plenty of sunbeds around. The restaurant is located right on the beach. The food was delicious, especially the mussels, but everything was perfect! The chef really knows how to cook. Hotel service - very nice! Niki, Kliton, Chef, Bartender and cleaning Lady - Thanks to your kindness, our family stay was very successful. Everything is much better than in the pictures! We'll be back for sure!

This is the best apartment I've ever stayed in during my trip to Europe. The host is the most enthusiastic and friendly person I've ever met. She prepared everything I needed for me! Everything in the apartment is so perfect - clean and big beds, beautiful gardens and a sunny living room. It's only a few steps away from the beach. Living here is definitely a good start to your trip to Crete!

The room was spacious and had everything I needed. The staff were lovely and accommodated a really late check in (2am). The accommodation and the pool area were very clean. I always felt safe even though I was travelling alone. The location was perfect, close to good restaurants and the beach.

Mylos hotel is in the central part of Platanias, close to restaurants, supermarkets and, in particular, it is connected with a truly excellent equipped beach. The apartment was absolutely nice, but what really makes the difference at Mylos Hotel is its receptionist Maria. She is a young, very professional employee, always ready to satisfy any type of request in a very short time and always with a smile on her face. I have no doubt that, if I were to return to Crete in the future, I will choose Mylos hotel again, hoping to find Maria too.

    We went during school holidays so it was pretty busy but the tourist high street was quiet during the day while everyone was on the beach. The food was excellent. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The beach bars were also good. The Cretans were very friendly and helpful. Crete has plenty of interesting sites to visit both inland and on the coast. We would happily return.

    Plataniás is bustling - very busy full of shops (which are great) and restaurants. There are, unfortunately, too many places serving chips with everything! We wish there had been some more options, i.e. rice, authentic Cretan dishes, taverna based meals, but it is what it is. There was no need for a car - most places were walkable. Our villa was amazing, but we would not return to Plataniás - it seemed to have dropped down a notch since our trip last year. We saw quite a few young (and older) men walking around shirtless and some girls dressed quite inappropriately. I'm not a prude, but it made the area far less salubrious than it should be.

    I don't usually like touristy places but Platanias had a lovely feel about it. Not too many people, although this may have been because we went in September. We visited the War Museum - definitely worth it. Also went to John the Hermit cave and monastery at Kissimo which were unbelievable. Beach was great and snorkeling trip fantastic and well looked after.

    Touristy beach town extending along one road with lots and lots of restaurants, bars, hotels etc. lovely to get away from the road onto the beach. Beach was calmer and more relaxed away from the town centre.

    It’s a great location with its own beach, but also a short driving distance to other fantastic beaches such as Falasarna, Elafonisi, Balos. A lot of food options. Not so much clubbing or night life.

    The beach is nice, one can enjoy both sunrise & sunset at it. Warm waters. You must have beach shoes, as it is mostly made of rocks. You can go around by foot or bus, which runs every 20-30 minutes. Platanias has a good variety of shops, bar, restaurants to choose from, but our favourite by far was the SUN RISE BEACH RESTAURANT. Great food, generous portions, value for money and absolutely friendly team.

    Very beautiful and well maintained property in the center of Platanias (25 mins drive from Chania) with a generous beach front and pool. Lovely owners and staff, very attentive with the guests from every aspect, worth mentioning that there's a focus on quality (didn't expect speciality coffee in a hotel - same with the food from the restaurant, the breakfast is not a buffet). We will return with pleasure when visiting Crete again.

    We liked it because it's a simple place, but it has everything we need, the staff are very kind, she made the best pizza for us. We walked to the main street and there are bars, supermarkets, restaurants, entertainment for everyone! We saw a beautiful sunset in front of the beach! :D We recommend renting a car if you want to go to the center of Chania, or to different beaches, caves, there is always parking nearby.

    Absolutely world class, the pictures don't lie! Only 5-10 mins walk from a strip with bars and restaurants, and the beach too. Only 30 mins drive from chania and only an hour's drive from Samaria Gorge! The hosts are really helpful and supportive, easy to contact and even offered us extra beds for comfort! Can't recommend it enough!
