Kos was one of the most visitor friendly island. The large sidewalks and bike lanes were impressive. The post barriers along streets also great. the benches along Marina provided umbrellas for shade. That was a first! It is a well thought out plan for people. Walkable. Restaurants were diverse and delicious. The most outstanding experience of Kos town was the people. Everywhere we went we met kind, friendly and generous people. Everything in Kos town is within walking distance from the beach to the old town. It depends on what you want. Parts are aimed at tourists.
It depends on what you want. Parts are aimed at tourists. But it's worth a wander. The old town is worth a half day. There are sufficient good restaurants, especially at the top end of the pedestrian are that's worth a visit. Restaurants and bars are competitive so prices are vert reasonable. Kos Town offers a great balance of beach, buzzy bars/restaurants and culture. You have the option to spend a day at the beach, go on the 3 Island Boat Trip, explore the lovely shops of Kos Town or the Agora or Odeon. We've also visited the Asclepieion and Zia so you won't be short of variety or things to do. We particulary liked hiring bikes (5 Euros a bike) and cycling to Psalidi and then the other way towards Tingaki - cycling lanes make it a safe experience.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom

Not so near the city center, but we rented some bicikles near the hotel and cicled to the centre. It was quiet, so you could enjoy morning breakfast or dinner in the evening. Aroud the facility the chickens are walking freely, so we had a feeling like we were at home. You can have a drink at the snack bar, swim in the pool area or play the billard.
