This is quite an expensive area to stay in, with no chain supermarkets nearby and fully privatized beaches. However, the surroundings are extremely beautiful. There’s a bakery-coffee shop that’s great for local baked goods and budget-friendly coffees and sandwiches. Bali is a nice place in general - big enough to offer variety of good restaurants, sandy beaches with minimal waves, water sports and other activities (quad tours, day trips); small enough not to feel like in a big city. Great place for young families. Bali beach itself is a fun little beach, sandy, nice water, shallow entrance, also seemingly protected on windy days. Shops, places to eat etc., are very close.
