Beautiful self catering accommodation complex with a traditional Cycladic design, located in the quaint little village of Kato Petali. Spacious room and bathroom, with kitchen facilities for cooking as well as a nespresso machine. Check in was very easy and efficient and we were delighted to find that our room was ready when we arrived 2 hours before check in time! The room was cleaned on day 2 and towels replenished although we were only staying for 2 nights! The host, Aris, was very helpful and accommodating, offering to help us with car rental and booking taxi to the port upon departure. Located within walking distance of Apollonia town (10-15 mins) on a picturesque trail enjoying views of the village, surrounding farmland and mountains. Buses from Apollonia go to tourist attractions like Kastro and Platy Gialos. Also one of the best traditional tavernas on the island, To Kelari, is conveniently located right across the street, and Sifnos Narlis farm (a traditional farm which offers a unique experience of cooking class/tasting/farm tour which I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the island) is only a few minutes' walk away too! Will definitely stay here again when we are back in Sifnos!

The hotel operates in conjunction with an excellent cafe/taverna where breakfast and other meals there were all very good. Friendly service equally so. My single room was situated in the quiet courtyard garden. The hotel is very well situated in Apollonia, and for the bus to other villages/beaches.

We really liked everything! No words can describe how perfect, relaxing and quiet it was. Magnificent garden, beautiful rooms. We were welcomed with a big smile. It was an out of the world experience. It has everything you needed and more. Another big plus is its location: close to the bus stop, from where you can catch the bus to explore the island AND very close to the lovely centre of Apollonia. We arrived early the day of our check-in and they did everything they could to check us is as early as possible. We cannot wait to stay here again.

First of all, we are very happy to have met Maria and her sweet nephew. The location of the facility, the garden, and the houses were all better than we expected. Even though we only stayed for three nights, our room was cleaned every day and our coffee was replenished. We were very pleased with our stay here in Sifnos and would recommend it to everyone. This was our second time staying at Esmeralda Apartments. We love it here, the staff are fantastic and go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. The location is great, just a short walk to Apollonia. The rooms are really nice. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Everything was flawless during our stay; the view from the property, the room, the breakfast and the staff. What a little oasis on earth! You wake up to the most beautiful sunlight and view over the ocean. Didn’t see that many mentions about the restaurant that serves both lunch and dinner to hotel guests. Very highly recommended staying in one night to enjoy it; food was out of this world! Amazing cuisine and delicious options on the menu.

    Appolonia is a good base to explore the island.

    Appolonia is a good base to explore the island. You can take a bus to all the major beaches/towns from here. Appolonia itself is a sweet town with lovely, welcoming people. There are also a number of really nice shops along the main walking street and restaurants. Finally, if you plan to hike around the trails of Sifnos Appolonia is the perfect place to start from.

    Apollonia is a lovely town, and a really great base for exploring the island. The views are beautiful, there are great places to eat and drink, as well as shops selling local goods. It’s very close to a village which is full of ceramics workshops, and we loved visiting and meeting some of the potters and buying directly from them. The town is a short drive from pretty much every other place on the island. It has lovely views and is quiet and safe. It was my first time visiting and I’ll definitely return in future, Sifnos is my favourite Greek island that I’ve visited so far.

    Having visited many Greek islands and the Cyclades in particular I can say that Sifnos is a delight!! The village of Apollonia is typical picture perfect with traditionally winding streets with blue and white buildings and a church at every turn. Lots of boutiques with local wares and lots of amazing restaurants. There are good bus routes from Apollonia to other villages on the island and at just €2 a journey why hire a car. Perfect for the real Greek experience.

    The nightlife of Sifnos is concentrated in Apollonia. Here the famous alley the "steno" (narrow street) is home to commercial shops, restaurants, bars and clubs which are open until late at night!

    It is a wonderful village with heartfelt places to dine. You will love this place. They have many trails and we will be back, because we underestimated the many trails and the length of trails offered. You are in for an adventure. And, when we return, we too will be in for a continued adventure. This is an island and its people that you can fall in love with...

    The hotel is well located being only a short walk from the port and the beach. The bus stop to the village is across the road. We had a nice room with a large terrace overlooking the bay. However, the shower was small and we did not have hot water. The welcome was good but breakfast did not vary. Not everyone wants toasted cheese sandwiches and hard boiled eggs for breakfast every time. A choice of omelette or other eggs would have been appreciated.

    The hotel is situated in a splendid position with great views over the surrounding hills. There is a lovely pool. Great breakfast with really fresh ingredients. Good room with terrace, comfortable bed. Diogo was particularly charming and helpful. It was great to get the free transport from and to our ferry. There are a lot of fairly gentle steps to the two villages where there are several restaurants. The hotel is great as a hiking centre because several paths cross the island five minutes down the steps. Buses also leave from there.

    Maria was an excellent host, very warm and accommodating. Lovely breakfast provided on terrace every morning with views over the island. Easy walk into centre of Apollonia and Artemonas and easy access to buses and taxis. Bit of an uphill hike to reach the accommodation but the views are worth it! Very peaceful location. Looking forward to going back next year!

    Everything. Staff were attentive, professional, very friendly and nice. Facilities excellent, everything worked perfectly. Location perfect for getting around. Views from hotel breathtaking, overlooking Kastro and beyond. Short walk to Apollonia. Rooms spotless, lots of hot water. Food of the highest quality and variety. Cannot fault it.
