We had a truly wonderful stay at Arfna Villas. The villa is modern, very comfortable and had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. The place was extremely clean and well maintained, which made us feel at home right away. The hosts were amazing, very kind and helpful. They even allowed us to check in early and check out late without any extra charge, which we really appreciated. The villa is located a bit outside of the main town and other nearby areas, so it’s best suited if you rent a car to get around easily. For us this wasn’t a problem and it added to the relaxing atmosphere. The beach is ok. It is pretty rocky. Still nice. Not much else to do around, so I booked a few tours. The supermarket is a long walk away, especially in the heat, so if you are planning on food shopping and don't drive it's not that easy. If you drive you should be fine. The locarion is better if you rent a car. Not that many places to eat, just a few. There is a small convenience store that sells water and a few basic products. The walk to the beach is quite far, so I recommend renting a car right away. There are plenty of restaurants, but not too many shops—still, it was enough. Afandou is a city of mopeds; I’ve never seen so many anywhere else. The center of Rhodes is simply amazing, with countless shops and many restaurants. Afantou was a good place to explore the east coast from - very accessible to Rhodes Town and Lindos and all places in-between. Everyone was friendly. We ate at tavernas in the square by the school - both excellent. We found the streets of Afantou quite muddly, but soon got used to them - and it added to the charm of the place. There is a snack bar in the garden, but with very calm and relaxing music (nothing like your usual noisy beach bars). We really enjoyed sitting on our balcony, looking at the sea and mountains and just relaxing. The staff is friendly, helpful and simply wonderfull.
