Tutbury is a really lovely place in very nice countryside.
Tutbury is a really lovely place in very nice countryside. The high street has retained its quite select features, is clean and well cared for. The hotel is central to the street. Not a place for retail therapy but one excellent antique centre in the old Chapel plus a few eateries and take-seats. Lovely little village, quiet but went in March. Castle not open but we had a pleasant walk around the village. There are a few shops for browsing. Comfortable and lovely old oak beamed room overlooking the high street - the decor is a little run down and in need of refreshment but everything functioned and the feel of the place outweighs any minor shortcomings .
