This is a lovely hotel with great rooms at a great price for the location. A lively bar scene and all facilities great. The manager was very friendly and accommodating and even gave us a refund when our plans went awry and we couldn’t stay one night, even though they were not obliged to.

Friendly and helpful staff, good english breakfast and delicious dinner. Best Creme brûlée I ever had. Without car you have to consider that you walk about 20min to the centre and 40min to the train station. And between hotel and the centre is a hill. Some buses go near to the hotel. The view from the hotel is beautiful.

Nice Waterfront, large marina, but the town area was a bit tired. We drove to Brixham and thought it was possibly a nicer place to stay. Lovely meal at the quirky Mr Cook restaurant near to the Torre Abbey

I can see why Torquay gains the reputation as being know as the English Riviera. If you catch this place when the weather is nice, it is perfect to spend time there. A great selection of Restaurants, Bars and Cafe's to eat at and great to chill out admiring the views.

We have been to Torquay several times over the years and generally have always found it to be a great place to be based. We use public transport, and it is easy to get to all the places around the bay. We particularly love going to Brixham, Paignton, Newton Abbot and Teignmouth and places in their vicinity. The sand are also great for walking as are the promenades.

After a year in East Anglia the hills came as a bit of a shock. After day 3 we didn’t notice the ups and downs and enjoyed our daily walks. Rockfish? Served a brilliant meal and particularly enjoyed reminiscing over the charts of Trincomalee. Colombo and South Africa which are displayed on the inside wall.

The shopping is extensive, as can be expected from a Holiday resort area, with local shops as well as main brand chains. The Wetherspoons pub in the town entre served well prepared meals and a great range of beers. Once you are in the bay area it is all flat and easy walking, but some of the slopes out of the town are a little heavy going. I tried the coastal path and have to say you do need to be fairly fit to get through some parts of it. It is however, easy to get around the area with plenty of bus services and the Taxi services, given it is a holiday location, are reasonably priced.

The guy at reception was very friendly and helpful on arrival. We were able to check in 40 minutes early which we really appreciated. The size of the hotel was good. There is a small lift up to the floors. Breakfast is available however we didn't order it. The room size was very good. Price for a Saturday night was very good. There was a fan, TV, iron and ironing board in the room. One pillow each for a double bed. Plenty of plug sockets and a usb port in the lamp. 8 minute drive from Torquay centre.

Had a wonderful stay (4 nights at Elmington House) - fabulous property and Lisa (the Owner) is incredibly warm and friendly and does her upmost to ensure you have a great stay. Spotlessly clean and fantastic breakfasts (served by Colin who was very efficient and friendly) - Hotel rooms were well furnished, very clean. Hotel is situated in a quieter part of Torquay (which I loved) but only a short walk to the beach and shops - would highly recommend.

We wanted somewhere to stay for our daughter's wedding based at the Imperial Hotel in Torquay. We came across Palm Grove Apartments and struck gold! We had 3 apartments, one was a 2 bedroom, and all of them were to a very high standard and prefect for our needs. The hosts could not have done more, very friendly and great communication. We would not look elsewhere if we were to stay in Torquay for another occasion

Beautiful views from the restaurants, friendly staff, discount at the bar if you don't use the daily cleaning service. The hotel is located on the South West coastal path, the walk into Torquay town is about 20 mins so uphill on the way back. The single room was spacious, quiet and comfortable I slept well. Good shower and smart TV. The furniture isn't new but it is clean. I would stay here again.
