I know Stevenage of old and have been in the area many times over the years. Excellent facilities and very well sign-posted as to where you need to be. The night life is also very good. The Old Town is a wonder and worth a visit. I travel just over an hour to be in Stevenage and make the most of it.Guest review byVivienne - 10.0

Stevenage used to be much more vibrant.
Stevenage used to be much more vibrant. I was shocked to see that all the shops and businesses in the town centre were closed by 6 pm on a weekday. Only happening place was Tesco in the Stevenage town centre. The shopping centre looked like was a deserted place (see photos). The size of the rooms are too small. I requested for two single bed rooms of which only one room was made available. The corridor is dirty and smelling. There was complementary bottle water which was being said that we had to purchase. Driving from Scotland to visit my sister in hospital so no other comments had a take-away from the Golden Siam restaurant very expensive and not true Thai cooking having lived in Thailand for 12 years I am more than qualified to judge. The place is easy to find, near the city centre and has few parking, but if the parking is full, thetlre is a public parking just opposite the hotel. Usually, the Holiday inn has complimentary welcome bottle water not sure why we did not have. There are complimentary tea, coffee and kettle good for cold weather.
