I would not ever stay at this place again .?The booking in system was old fashion and they couldn’t get wifi . So we had to go and get cash to pay for our room . When we got to our room the bathroom was very dirty and had no hot water to shower. No hand soap and 1 toilet roll. The whole place needs a facelift very old and dirty . Bed was comfortable, the one staff member was nice and doing her best . We arrived at the property about 2.30pm to be told last orders for food is at 4.30 and that the bar would be closed early that night as well , bathroom in the in the room had a broken toilet seat, lighting was poor and smells. I use this hotel/pub sometimes when travelling to Plymouth...
I use this hotel/pub sometimes when travelling to Plymouth from London as it is very close to the A303, is family run, and has a good choice of food. In the Summer there are good walks over fields and footpaths to nearby villages, and in the winter ( or at any time of year) the nearby Haynes Motor Museum is a wonderful place to while away an hour or two with stunningly restored cars and motor cycles from around the world through the ages.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Sparkford itself is a linear town with little to see but it does have an excellent Museum of motoring which is outstanding . It is also surrounded by countryside but so it the whole of the west country . Bathroom was not clean and smells all the time, and there is a step which is a trip hazard! No toilet brush and nothing was refreshed mid stay no clean towels and no no coffee tea etc was issued during our stay! Outside furniture yes but only 1 chair and small table for a family room. We arrived at 8pm on a Friday night and checked in, we went back to the bar to order some dinner and was told the kitchen was closed at 8.30pm! Some of the guests had driven 3+ hours to reach the hotel so for dinner not to be available was disappointing.
