A very charming place in a lovely village. Very friendly and welcoming staff with a personal approach. All the necessary comforts. There's something very satisfying about staying in an inn... perhaps it's the history the building makes you think of, or the warmth of its busyness, or the pint you can pop down for... Not sure... but we loved the place!

Old mill and market town with interesting architecture, galleries, churches and history. Lots of lovely quaint shops. Market stalls Wednesday and Saturday including an old covered market. Impressive old war memorial in the centre. Very friendly and helpful people. Lots of eating and drinking places maintaining their old features. Beautiful, well maintained parks with hilly features and variety of trees and vegetation. Easy access to the Pennines, Peak District, Potteries and other towns and country pubs.

An historic town, very active in the 18-19th century with Silk weaving. The town centre is worth visiting to see how the indoor market has been modernised and some intriguing little side streets. Unfortunately the Leek Tourist Office has closed and there were no leaflets in the Leek library, but there is a lot more local information on line at https://visitpeakdistrict.com/locations/leek. For Industrial History seekers, it is worth looking at 'Brindley's Mill' which is not what Brindley (of Canal Building fame) owned, but where he started work at a water Mill. It is only open on certain days and times.

Leek has many historical buildings of interest - we followed the historical buildings walking trail which was interesting. The people of Leek were very friendly and helpful, offering places of interest to visit and advice on eateries. We frequented The Roebuck Pub over alternative options, purely because of the value for money of food options, which were excellent. Leek itself is easy to walk around, just 'hilly' so you need good calf muscles. At the time we visited, the famous indoor market was under reconditioning, so will need to visit again in the future to tick this off our list.

Leek is a lovely market town that has retained many original features. You can see money is being invested in the area and it is a good place to travel out from to see the sights. There are many places of interest, walks and waterfalls and of course the peak district itself. So many pubs to choose from all stocking locally brewed ales

This is quite a lively but friendly town with everything you need when you are away from home. Good Esso garage and shop with easy access. The roads are busy but manageable even in torrential rain. I stayed just outside of Leek but a lovely area of the countryside.

Leek is a market town full of character. Interesting architecture and lots of small independent shops to explore. We explored Leek on foot and found a park to relax in. There are some good restaurants and we can recommend Napoli restaurant with a good range of pizza and pasta dishes.

We had an amazing stay for a family christmas , the host were amazing and only ever a message away for any info needed . House was lovely and we had the added bonus of a christmas tree in the lounge . Location was perfect and so convenient for the town . The hosts literally saved our christmas after another property in leek cancelled our booking in November after we had had it booked for a year. We can't recommend this property and the team enough .

A beautifu and welcoming place right in the centre of town. Locals often stop into the hotel bar, which has several guitars waiting to be played by anyone who wants to, and a great vibe. If anything isn't right, the staff will fix it. For example the wifi is sometimes spotty -- tell the staff, they'll fix it. And the rooms can get quite hot on hot nights -- ask for a fan, they'll bring one.

Gorgeous Georgian building with interesting features! Ideal location for central Leek. Clean, tidy and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. Helpful the property had parking although it wasn’t initially very clear where we were allowed to park, and they were quite tight spaces as we had a couple of 4x4s.

We spent a few relaxing days in the Little Barn. It's in a great, very beautiful location, excellent for starting some hikes right from the doorstep. It's in a very peaceful, remote area but close enough to Leek or Buxton if any shops are needed. The house is super cozy with a great fireplace that we enjoyed.
