We only used it as a stop over before an early morning...

Loved the circular riverside walk, straight from Heronshaw...
Loved the circular riverside walk, straight from Heronshaw House. Nice on a hot day and great for dogs, one splash about area during the walk, and a decent length of walk. Think it was around an hour, including stops to take photos. Despite being close to the airport you rarely heard any aircraft noise. A hidden gem, yet only a short drive to all local amenities. The walk is easy and flat. So if you want a relaxing and peaceful break you will not be disappointed, without being cut off should you want more. A half hour drive to the Cliffhouse, at Barton on Sea, for some fabulous food, with lovely views looking over to the Isle of White and Hengistbury Head. Our room was very well provided with extras we often haven't found in hotels e.g. bedroom tissues, fresh milk provided in a thermos to preserve its freshness. It was close to the beach and so much better than a hotel -we got to sit outside in the sunshine and have a bbq and the room had everything we needed.
