The room was lovely, spacious and newly refurbished. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was pristine. Great modern, clean bathroom. All the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for me. The communal areas are lovely too and the bar is great. I think its nicer than it appears on the website.

The reception staff and the bar staff were very lovely and thoughtful especially when the takeaway orders arrived and somone at the reception would let me know through the phone calls. The view from the bedroom was great too, my mum and I didn't go far because it was raining outside so we stayed in but we can still get to see the seaviews! Room was a bit cold but someone provided extra heater for us before our arrivals. As I have severe anxiety disorder, the hotel helped us to find a room where's really quiet and I love that!

We had a fantastic stay in Exeter! The apartment was spacious, clean, and beautifully presented — it had everything we needed and felt like a real home away from home. The host provided excellent service, was very responsive, and made the whole experience seamless. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. We’ll definitely be back!

An attractive small town that benefits from looking out over both the sea and estuary. The shops, station and ferry (for Starcross) are all within easy walking distance. Exmouth is at one end of the Exe Estuary Trail: we cycled from Exeter (and back at the end of our stay). This is a very scenic, mostly off road and mostly flat route, highly recommended.

We don't have a car so appreciated being able to get about on public transport. Had days in Exeter, Sidmouth and Topsham and can recommend A La Ronde, a National Trust property just outside Exmouth - an interesting, quirky house in lovely gardens with great views. Plenty of good places to eat - really like Alleria, Ristorante Sapori, Queen Vic and had an excellent roast at The Grove. It is nice to see the effort being made with beautiful floral displays and pillar box toppers (a lot of work demonstrating what the place means to the locals).

Having spent many holidays in Exmouth as a child it was nice to return after a number of years. Not too much has changed, which is no bad thing, and it is still a lovely place to spend a holiday. Having such a wide beach means you can have long walks along the promenade and the Marina is worth a visit too. The Exmouth Museum was new to me and is well worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and informative and, although small, it has a lot of exhibits. It's very easy to take the train to Exeter which has wonderful views of the estuary, and we also drove to St Erth and then took the park and ride to St Ives which is a lovely town and the railway line goes alongside the beautiful coast. Don't miss A La Ronde on the edge of town too. Exmouth has wonderful flower displays all around the town and everything is kept in good condition. Inevitably there are some closed shops but still a lot of choice and many restaurants, pubs and cafes to choose from as well as a cinema. We ate breakfast and some evening meals in the Weatherspoon Powder Monkey which won't be to everyone's taste but you couldn't fault the service, choice and prices. We also went to Prezzo which was very good with excellent service and The Bath House in the sea front. Before coming I wasn't sure if I would want to return in the future but this definitely confirmed it won't be my last!

It was lovely, bright and airy, we stayed when the weather in Exmouth was hot and sunny and the hotels aspect (on a corner of residential streets) complimented the sunshine outside. The room itself was exceptionally clean and well furnished with the most comfortable bed. Bathroom was also clean and looked brand new. Breakfast (ordered the night before) was delicious with a great menu choice served in a timely fashion.

Lovely, friendly place right on the sea front. Made to feel very welcome and the room was clean and comfortable. I've seen 'quirky' used in reviews of this place and that fits wonderfully. Not a thing matches anything else, but that works really well as it feels like everything has been put together with thought and consideration. The Ash Hotel has a real big heart and I would stay here again if I were in Exmouth

A very well located hotel. I enjoyed my brief stay there very much. The room was good and comfortable. I enjoyed eating at the Wings Bar and also went to Budleigh Salterton. If I was to return to Exmouth for a longer trip, I would certainly stay at the Exmouth Beach Hotel.
