FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

The city is like a Harry Potter movie. It's magical.

The city is like a Harry Potter movie. It's magical. We had trouble with the food and restaurant hours. Like a metropolitan city, not everything is open at all hours. But that's the only problem. It's a very cute and charming place.

The architecture, the people and the entire experience in Edinburgh was great. I would highly recommend it to anyone that has not been. It is so beautiful. I wish I could go back already because there is so much more that I did not get the chance to see, so I will be back!

Wonderful site with soo much to see and do.

Wonderful site with soo much to see and do. Great transportation system, dependable and on time and the people were fabulous. Missed Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood because the tours were sold out despite having availability the day before, in mid-September! The Tenement house tour was short, a little harder to get to, but fascinating!

So much to do, it is a great walking city with so much history . Friendly people , but the restaurants are somewhat expensive. We saw Edinburgh Castle, Mary King Close, the HRY Britannia, the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Johnny Walker Experience and they were all great. I even tried haggis and fish pie, and loved them.

Great location in the city centre of Edinburgh, so we could walk everywhere. Big parking garage under the shopping center next door (the hotel is actually above the shopping center as well), which is very convenient when you go here by car. The concierge showed us the shortest and easiest way from the hotel to the car park by walking with us, which we thought was great! Comfortable beds and spacious room, overlooking the roof garden and Calton Hill.

Staff very professional and efficient. Great base for exploring Leith or for going into Edinburgh city centre. Family, couple, people on business friendly. It ticks all the boxes. Bright and airy. Ten Hill Place was a convenient and comfortable location from which to explore Old Town Edinburgh. It is close to Waverly Station, the Royal Mile and our favorite for this trip, the National Museum of Scotland. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, and the hotel restaurant provided excellent breakfasts.
