Dornoch surprised us with its beauty - a thriving little town with lovely little shops and obviously proud of its local history. Well-kept and clean it was a pleasure to walk around. The museum is excellent - well laid out presentations on different aspects and characters of the town's past and some interesting videos. The beach is beautiful too and well worth a visit. Absolutely loved our stay! The accommodation was beautifully appointed and incredibly comfortable. The food was top-notch, and the bar was a real highlight—especially the whiskey selection, which is second to none. The village is charming and perfectly located for exploring the Highlands. Clearly Dornoch is a mecca for golfers but it also has a wonderful beach, lovely shops and good restaurants. There are plenty of local walks and and Scottish heritage to explore. Dornoch is a lovely town with good mix of shops and eating places, great wee museum too with a tonne of history to marvel at. Beaches are stunning. You can walk for miles and only pass a few folk even during the peak summer period. I missed local artists and their ware, I'm sure there must of been some somewhere but the shops had a great variety of lovely stuff you can easily loose your money too.Guest review byAnderson - 8.0

The area was quite scenic, historic, and had many restaurants, bars, and social activities to cater to all members of a family. The town itself is clean, and was very busy in the early part of the season.
