Plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and picturesque churches with Pendle Hill as it's backdrop. The castle is interesting to explore and set in a lovely park, good for short walks. Great destination for real ale drinkers. Lots of lovely places to visit in and around Clitheroe.
Lots of lovely places to visit in and around Clitheroe. Lovely Mexican/Spanish restaurant called The Wellsprings, Sabden, well worth a visit serving excellent food and a beautiful views across the valley. For a lovely all-day breakfast try the wonderful Hindelinis restaurant and bar on the historic Gisburne Park Estate. If it's a Sunday roast you are after, why not try the fabulous Rhubarb restaurant in the Herriots Hotel in Skipton. We had a nice roast beef dinner in there when we visited. Not far we visited Malham Cove, Janet's Floss waterfall and Gordale Scar - a lovely 4 1/2 mile walk from Malham.Guest review byVal - 6.0

Its about 3 mins walk through the church yard at the end of the lovely quiet street. Spotless clean and high quality furishings throughout. The beds are so comfortable,, we all had great nights sleeps. There is a very well equipped kitchen to include a dish washer., washing machine and microwave. Quiet at night in spite of popularity of restaurant. Menu was varied and food fresh and plentiful. Good base for walks around Pendle Hill. Be aware that is close to main road and probably need to drive to get into centre of Clitheroe. We tried walking in but wasn't a great route.
