It's a very clean and nice property not far from Cardiff City Centre. We booked two rooms for our family and both the rooms were very nice, spacious enough to accommodate all of us. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and the staff are fantastic. Robes and slippers were provided. The toiletries were very nice. There was enough coffee, milk etc for our stay and a really good coffee machine. The rooms are nicely spaced apart so you're not staring into your neighbours room. It also feels very safe as the rooms are behind the marina gates with an access fob required. We ate in the restaurant one of the nights and the food was excellent. So were the cocktails! We enjoyed sitting on the private deck in the evening. It's only a short walk to the train station with regular trains into Cardiff and to Barry island. We will definitely stay here again.

Upon booking no assurance was given for an early check in but arriving to the property we managed to get in 2hours before the said time. The food was all cooked fresh, free refreshments at the common room and even have a gathering at some nights in the hotel. Over all it was a good experience and wouldn’t definitely come back.

The Pride of Wales

Capital of Wales, Cardiff is a wonderfully green city steeped in national pride. At its heart is enormous Bute Park, divided by the River Taff and named after the marquis that once lived in Cardiff Castle overlooking it. In fact, this is just one of 5 castles within the surrounding area.

Over the road is Cathays Park, a beautiful square flanked by Edwardian architectural masterpieces including Cardiff City Hall and the excellent National Museum of Wales. Another must-see is St Fagan’s National History Museum, one of Britain’s top attractions.

From Victorian arcades to the fabulous St David’s Centre, shopping in Cardiff is a delight. And there’s no shortage of pubs and restaurants in which to rest awhile. Those by Cardiff Bay offer particularly pleasant views.

Also by the bay are the futuristic National Assembly for Wales and the Wales Millennium Centre. Another year 2000 landmark is the Millennium Stadium, a state-of-the-art venue for international rugby and football matches, as well as concerts. Next door is Cardiff Arms Park, home to the city’s rugby union team, while Cardiff City FC’s new stadium is in the west.

Cardiff Airport is further west near Barry and Booking.com have an excellent range of hotels, B&Bs and apartments both near there and in the city centre.

    Tour of Principality Stadium very interesting. Enjoyed visiting Cardiff Castle and National Museum. Everything in city centre within walking distance of each other. Good local train services. Lots of interesting places nearby -Llandaff Cathedral, Castel Coch St Fagan's open air museum

    Cardiff Bay is lovely a great regeneration project, although there is quite a lot more building going on. Cardiff Castle is well worth a visit. Local buses and trains are excellent. St Fagans is well worth the bus trip, we could really have done with having 2 days there to look round, and it's FREE!

    I'm possibly slightly biased as I have spent lots of my childhood and teenage years in and around Cardiff and have lots of family locally. However it is a lovely city and there are lots of great places in and around Cardiff to visit, there is lots to do. I have always loved visiting the City centre, The Bay and Barry Island (even before Gavin and Stacey). Ty Nant Inn, Cedar tree Farm both are great pubs. Public transport is good, and driving around is easy as long as you watch the speed limits carefully as most roads have a 20mph limits.

    Cardiff Bay's redevelopment is wonderful with the Syned, Theatre and many restaurants etc. It is a short bus ride into the city centre which surprised us with the high quality of the shopping arcades. The castle and Bute Park were so interesting and we returned to the bay on a riverboat which had a very good commentary about the places passing by.

    Overall the people in and around Cardiff were the most friendly we have come across in all of our travels across 4 continents. We did some food and city tours which gave us a really good overview of the city centre and harbour area. We walked around the city core and took a 10 minute Uber to get to the harbour.
