Very cozy small town.
Very cozy small town. Despite it's size, it has everything that is needed. Everything is accessible via a short walk. The area felt very safe. The beach was nice for a walk as well. Lots of people went there with their dogs in the morning and evening. It's easy to go from there to Edinburgh via train. amazing views across the Firth of Forth. beautiful village and amazing country side surrounding. the beach looked amazing though we did not get the weather to enjoy it but you can see the it is very safe as even at high tide the water is shallow a long way out. good restaurants and lovely village. We booked this hotel for an event in Kirkcaldy.
We booked this hotel for an event in Kirkcaldy. It turned out to be further away than we hoped (15 minutes drive) consequently we had little time to look round Burntisland but it seemed to offer little for a visitor in January. We stayed 6 nights in Burntisland, by the 3rd day, we felt like it was "our town". Everyone was so friendly. Once we told anyone that this was our first time in Scotland, they seemed eager to answer our questions and suggest little things make our visit more enjoyable. There are no chain restaurants or businesses in Burntisland. That (and the cheerful people) is what makes it such a charming town. My room was nicely decorated and furnished, the bathroom was modern. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice to have a comfy chair to sit in. I had a sea view over some buildings, although it’s not very scenic. The railway runs between the beach and hotel, but you couldn’t hear if with the window shut. The breakfast was served to you.
