I was there for a very specific reason; to follow up some...
I was there for a very specific reason; to follow up some family history research as my ancestors lived in East Brent. The village and surrounding villages are charming and very close to the entirely different atmosphere of Weston Super Mare. There is a pub in East Brent with huge and reasonably priced meals, obviously a favourite with the locals. There is a pub in Brent Knoll too but this was closed temporarily due to Covid. Apart from some houses and some interesting churches and of course the knoll itself (a huge hill you can climb if you've the energy) there is nothing much else in the villages for tourists. However you are in very easy reach of the M5, Weston Super Mare and other coastal resorts as well as Bristol, Wells, Cheddar and other attractions you might want to visit if you were on holiday. If you are just looking for overnight accommodation when you're on a long trip, the village is really close to the motorway and A38.Guest review byKathrynUnited Kingdom - 2.0
I booked it for May 5.
I booked it for May 5. I turned up early evening to check in, but the hotel was locked up and there was no answer when I knocked on the doors. I had to find alternative accommodation (and was ortunate to find the last room in a nearby chain hotel). I was charged by Bookings/Hotel and refused a refund. Terrible service from Bookings and/or the hotel. I'm now boycotting the hotel and bookings.com. The Barn was clean and surprisingly spacious. It was perfect for a couple to unwind in. Hosts were friendly and welcoming.
