Ambleside is a lovely place which I have been many of times. It’s more beautiful in the winter months as I feel it’s an escape from living next to the beach. The cottage was in a good location to visit other parts of the Lake District. Narrow roads but not too busy. We ate in the Cottage in the evening but visited the local pub, just a short walk away, for a pre-dinner drink. We bought some wonderful local bacon from the shop. The Shop was surprisingly well stocked. The Cottage is not in Ambleside which was a good thing as there was a Beer Festival the whole weekend we were there and Town was packed. There’s so much to do in Ambleside, and I think I’ll definitely come again in another season. You can enjoy poetic walks, explore local heritage sites, or even catch a movie or a play. For the sporty ones, there’s hiking, biking, water sports, and even rock climbing. During my stay, there were a few rainy days and even Storm Amy, but none of that changed the beauty of the Lake District. I’ll surely be back — again and again.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Ambleside is a great base for outdoor activity in the Lake District with good public transport connections, plenty of shops (including specialist gear shops) and restaurants, cafes and pubs. The views from the apartment were amazing. Check in was very easy picking the keys up on arrival from outside the apartment.
