The service from the staff was excellent - we were staying with our 6 month old baby and my elderly father and they did their utmost to make our stay as comfortable as possible, despite our various requirements (washing baby bottles daily, having to bring some breakfast for my dad at York Hospital). We had dinner twice at The Rise and although the first time we enjoyed an average meal, the second time, where we were a group of 13 for my graduation dinner, was fantastic.

We loved everything about the property. It was the best stay we’ve had, the location, the staff were amazing and so attentive and kind. The food was exceptional and we will definitely be back. I can honestly say it was one of the best places we’ve stayed and would highly recommend to our friends.

It is a truly beautiful place. Everywhere I turned there was a picture calling to be taken. The green grass, the beautiful gardens, trees and flowers, the small pond - everything had an Alice in Wonderlandish feel. It’s far enough from the city to be surrounded by beautiful green fields and close enough that you can get a taxi to ride into the city center when needed. The staff was exceptional, always polite and taking care of every request whether it was a cup of tea in the lawns or suggestions of what to do nearby. The spa was also wonderful - with the heated pool, jacuzzi and steam / sauna, it all added to a relaxing stay

The staff did an amazing job in very difficult situation, with the global IT outage. We were very impressed with how cheerful and helpful the team was during this time. Well done everyone & thank you for a brilliant stay! The hotel is perfectly situated, easily within walking distance of pretty much everything we wanted to see & do. We didn't hear any noise from the bars across the road or traffic. Fantastic breakfast choices, would definitely stay there again!
