The joy of staying is such a gorgeous chateau in such a remarkable and fascinating 12th Century village was wonderful but my lasting memory will be the delightful staff who showed an interest in us and took the time to interact with us even singing a special song for our 50th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful stay, Isabelle is very friendly and welcoming. On the first night that we arrived, the power was out due to a storm and all shops were closed. Isabelle cooked for us and offered a bottle of wine to make us feel welcomed. The room is very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend staying at Au Bonh Au bonheur des ruelles.

We had a wonderful stay in Monpazier! Our hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The room was spotless, comfortable, and full of charm. Breakfast was delicious—fresh, generous, and beautifully presented. The peaceful atmosphere and thoughtful touches throughout made our short stay truly memorable. I am already looking forward to returning in June for another visit to the region.

A beautiful, confortable and welcoming chambre d'hôtes. Véronique et Philippe are fantastic hosts: friendly, helpful, efficient yet relaxed and very welcoming. We had a great breakfast and a very comfortable night sleep. The swimming pool (while we didn't use it this time) is a nice bonus. There's tea and a kettle in the room and a shared mini fridge accessible to guests which is very practical. Having the possibility to dine on site was very convenient. We had a lovely apéro and seasonal three-course meal cooked by professional chef Philippe, sitting on the terrace that overlooks the surrounding nature and with a wonderful view of the sunset -- fantastic! Thank you!

Harald & Monique were incredibly welcoming hosts. The room was comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was wonderful, you could really tell it was good quality, homemade/ local produce. The effort they have put into the property is abundantly clear and we would return in a heartbeat to share their little piece of French heaven!

Lovely peaceful location, attractive house as part of old farm buildings. Everything you would need in the kitchen. Plenty of space and some outside seating area. All rooms en-suite. Very good dinner (optional) with family and other guests. Very welcoming hosts.

    Beautiful historic well kept village on grid layout.

    Beautiful historic well kept village on grid layout. Nice restaurants and small shops. Has two small supermarkets for provisions a butcher and veg shop wine and local delicacies. Market Thursday. Lovely local people. Would recommend privilege restaurant to eat offering local food to a high standard in a typically French setting. Nice walks from village for those who like walking or running. Good base for seeing the dordogne area by car. Historic market square nice to have a drink in in season. You can buy a map at the Monparzier tourist centre in the square showing walks which are marked by coloured markers. Two bakeries for daily croissants bread and lovely cakes and sandwiches. Local filling station just out of top end of villages on Road to Bergerac.

    We had a print of Monpazier from over 25 years ago and...

    We had a print of Monpazier from over 25 years ago and promised one day to visit. It's remained unchanged and was beautiful. Highly recommend having a wine or other drink in the market square and watch the world go by at a pace so much slower than here in England.

    I thought this might have been a bit too far from other...

    I thought this might have been a bit too far from other sites we wanted to visit, but it was perfect. Less touristy and much more charming. We spent a day in the village square enjoying shopping and learning about the history. Several great restaraunts( Michelin star)and cafes to choose from. So much more relaxing and enjoyable. Our favorite place and would gladly return.

    A really beautiful historic town/village, with a fantastic sense of having walked back to medieval times in the main square and two main streets. Plenty of great places to eat (Restaurant Eleanore / Privilege du perigord / Bistrot 2), and a range of high quality arts, crafts, antiques and food shops on offer. Fantastic marklet too.

    This is one of the best apartments we have stayed in anwhere in the World. It is in a perfect location to explore the town of Monpazier and the region. It is extremely well equiped with all you will need for a perfect stay. It is clean and comfortable and large enough to make youself at home. The owners are very friendly and professional, and thier communication with advice and directions is above all we have dealt with in our many travels.

    The apartment was clean and cosy with everything you need. The hosts are extremely welcoming. Monpazier is a lovely small Bastide town and a good base for exploring the Dordogne area. Nice restaurants within easy walking distance. No problem with parking.
