    The countryside was superb and whilst the lanes were narrow,...

    The countryside was superb and whilst the lanes were narrow, the GPS found the hôtel easily. The parking area was spacious, and other residents friendly and of all nationalités. This hôtel was à real treasure situation in lovely Park Land. If you want to get away..and like calm..this is the place with lovely walks around.

    The property is set in its own grounds in a rural area a little off the beaten track. The room was small but equipped with a comfortable bed, tea/coffee making facilities and a private bathroom with shower over bath, wc and toiletries. The room was quiet and the optional breakfast provided everything you could need for the day ahead. Evening meal, again optional, was good food with ample choices and pretty good value for money. There is car parking on site in the grounds and both indoor and outdoor seating areas.

    Dinner was excellent served in a typical rural French hotel restaurant and pretty good value. There are a couple of nice outside areas to enjoy a pre-dinner drink too. Being only 1 hour away from Caen this is a great location to stay overnight if catching an early ferry. Interestingly speaking with fellow UK guests they were all staying overnight before heading to the Eurotunnel so clearly a good location for Calais too.

    The couple who run the hotel are lovely, welcoming and open. The evening meal is fantastic. Worth staying there for that alone. We go back there every time we can. It's a useful 4 hours from the Calais Eurotunnel departure point. And 6 hours from our final destination in France. Slightly off the beaten track, but you get a beautiful rural country house garden setting for the couple of miles travel.

    The hotel is surrounded by countryside and is impressive at first sight with ample parking in front of the building. The room was quite basic but a good size with a comfortable bed and all the usual facilities. In the large elegant dining room the evening menu gave a wide variety of choice, service was quick and the food was good though not exceptional.

    I have stayed at the hotel several times because it is ideally located when breaking journeys to/from the coast. Quiet location in the country. The food is outstandingly good. Very good value for money

    I think this is my favourite hotel. It has a very good restaurant and very nice champagne. This was my 4th stay and I find it quirky and rather charming. I really look forward to returning soon.
