It can be a little hard to get your bearings in Limoges as...
It can be a little hard to get your bearings in Limoges as the city is not flat and everything can feel a little scattered about (the city hall is miles away from the cathedral and the porcelain museum is yet again miles away from both). However, don't let that put you off visiting both the fine arts museum next to the cathedral as well as the porcelain museum (Musee Adrien Dubouche). The latter was extended and refurbished just a couple of years ago and the result is amazing with great technical insight into making pottery in general , the history of the local industry and a vast collection spanning almost every conceivable example. Great city to visit, even in mid-winter, with wonderful museums and cathedral, a spectacular Art Deco station and an excellent central food market. A compact centre with lots of bars and restaurants, and fascinating Christmas lights (each street in the centre has its own different lights). I'll be back!
