Amboise is a great town to visit.
Amboise is a great town to visit. Lots of lovely shops & restaurants in the town especially the Lebanese restaurant. The chateau d'amboise is lovely & the chateau clos de luce & gardens are fabulous. Tours is only 35 minute drive from amboise & the village of chedigny is 35 minutes away also. It's beautiful. Will definitely be back again.Guest review byMaryIreland - 10.0

Ancient buildings everywhere for history-lovers, in particular the chateau, but the real attraction for us was the Leonardo da Vinci connection. The Chateau Clos de Luce was his home for several years and houses a museum dedicated to him, full of interesting personal detail - drawings, paintings and, best of all, reconstructions of his speculative machines. The apartment is well-appointed, clean, and comfortable and within walking distance to nice restaurants, shops, and pharmacy. The owner of the apartment provided excellent directions to the site and where to park and communicated before and during the visit. So many sites to see right in Amboise, and it's a beautiful city.
