I only picked La Zubia because it was on my way between Malaga and Valencia. I hade landed the same day after a night flight. For me it was different as I needed accomodation for my parents near to granada hospital, this little suburb is a perfect spot as its easy to get to granada and the hustle and bustle but la zubia itself is lovely and quiet and a great escape yet still with all the amenities you need, banks, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, opticions etc,, so ideal really! La Zubia can be considered a “dormitory” town for Granada city, located just 15 minutes’ drive away at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the National park. It is a pleasant and clean town with a welcoming atmosphere. El Balcon de las Nieves hotel is a converted family home in the upmarket area of Cumbres Verdes, above La Zubia town. The children loved playing outdoors and there are so many beautiful places to sit and relax. The house and outdoor space were quiet and spacious yet it was so easy to get a bus to Granada from opposite the house, only a 5 minute walk to the supermarket or restaurants in La Zubia, and a 10 minute drive to the Alhambra, the Sierra Nevada national park and the Parque de Sciencias. I loved the fact that you can park right outside the front door of your own private cottage. The property is rustic but spotlessly clean, and the beds are brand new and extremely comfortable. Something I didn't expect, but was grateful for, was the central heating. You are surrounded by nature, which my dog absolutely loves, so we did some good, long walks.
