Everything.... Room was like something from a fairytale, private patio, big comfy bed. The entire hotel was filled with old stuff, like walkin through a museum. Staff friendly and serviceminded. We stayed here for 3 nights. When we return this is our number one choice.

I always appreciate breakfast in the hotel. This breakfast was generous and additionally had interesting side dishes that were local/traditional. We enjoyed a drink just outside the hotel in the arrival evening; the locals were enjoying live music and it was fun and lively. The location was convenient to walk along the river and to the old town. We were able to park for free (weekend) at the bus depot parking lot. We really enjoyed exploring everywhere in Tartu, especially the two neighborhoods with street art (we found a map to aid in our 'treasure hunt' from the city website). We highly recommend the Meat Market near the main square for starters - toasted garlic bread was to die for. The ethnographic museum was AMAAAAZING - and we would have loved to enjoy an outdoor concert at the festival venue. Walking around the famous cathedral park was lovely. Tartu was my favorite town in Estonia. Oh yes, and the beds were perfectly comfortable.

This was our second stay and we will keep coming back because it's such good value. The breakfast is better than many hotels that are three times the price. Everything is efficient, clean and comfortable here. The staff are very helpful, and speak good English. Highly recommended.

The staff was really helpful and friendly always willing provide support. Whenever together with a collegaue we needed an iron it was provided, when we wanted to have breakfast really early in the morning (4am), it was also provided, the lady even gave us the plastic wrapping to wrap our sandwiches in. The room was spacious and bright, it had windows looking to the city center. Barclay hotel exceeded my expectations.

    Absolutely fantastic small, green, walkable city with a great young studently attitude combined with lots of arts. Poets, writers dramatists who had come from there. I found learning all about them while strolling leisurely around their city fascinating. I, personally, really hope to return there soon.

    Tartu is the intellectual capital of Estonia and has some great museums. Eesti Rahva Museum is a must go. A fantastic history of Estonia and the finno-ugrik peoples. Vanemuine opera is good and good value. Loodus museum is better than Tallinn. Great restaurants and easy to get around on public transport.

    Literally gorgeous, such a hidden gem!

    Literally gorgeous, such a hidden gem! It is mainly a student city and I was there for a conference, so I got the full academic vibes, but the town itself is beautiful! The centre is almost exclusively very aesthetically pleasing neo-classical architecture, there are many café and restaurant options around, and the locals are kind and welcoming. It really feels like a city that is proud of itself and its heritage, and is happy to show it!

    Pretty, friendly city, lively on a Satruday evening due to its large student population. Plenty of history and architecture to see, lots of scuptures and other art. Boat trip on river, lots of riverside bars and music.

    Very tidy city.

    Very tidy city. Old town is compact, with a lot of areas to sit in and enjoy the day/evening. Really loved the river side with all the bars and places to sit. Best to travel by feet or bolt scooters.

    Excellent location and good value for money. We were travelling with a baby and had asked for a crib. We got this AND there was also a potty, extra steps in the bathroom as well as a bathrobe and slippers for the baby, smoothie bags in the mini bar etc. Small things that made us really feel welcome as a family. The breakfast was good and staff really friendly and helpful. The spa was one of the best I've been to in Estonia.

    I liked the Coffee Machine in Lobby Bar- free usage for the guests. I liked the small gift from the Hotel in Christmas time. This is my favorite Hotel in Tartu, usually I stay there when possible. Good value/quality balance, excellent location in the center of the City. Very good breakfast. First time I had room with the view to the back side. This was also ok, but I prefer the room with the view, with the big windows.

    Great location in my favourite Estonian town. 👌🏻 it says hotel, but I would say it's more like a student dorm where I used to live while studying in Tartu. I quite enjoyed staying in Soho so that I could feel how it's like living in the dorm again and took me back in my memories.
