Atacames is a fairly normal Ecuadorian Beach town. A nice, if comercial 'boardwalk' along the beach, the Malecon, and about 10 by 20 blocks of town behind it. Lots of choice for dining and shopping. Atecames is a small resort town, prone to the problems of tourist areas the world over. But it is pleasant and well maintained and has a selection of restaurants and lodgings for any budget. There are markets for fresh food, seafood, and scads of clothes.
