    If you are a photography afficionado Wetzlar is a good place to visit. And please note: you don't need to be a Leica fanboy/girl to enjoy what Leica has to offer in terms of exhibitions and information at their Leica World. Apart from this aspect of a visit to Wetzlar there isn't really that much to keep you occupied. There is a quaint historic city centre, lovely shops and boutiques, good restaurants and pubs. But that's about it ...

    I know Wetzlar my whole life as I grew up just a couple of miles from there. Wetzlar has changed since I was a kid but it still has its charm. Best place is the "Altstadt" and the area around the Lahnufer.

    Wetzlar is a gorgeous old town with loads of history.

    Wetzlar is a gorgeous old town with loads of history. There is a beautiful park along both sides of the river and activities such as canoeing available. Plenty of restaurants and beer gardens by the old bridge. I was only there one evening but wished I had longer!

    Beautiful city a combination of the medieval with deep Technology. In a matter of minutes you can walk from a a quaint mediaeval Village complete with half-timbered architecture to world leading facilities from Leica.

    The room that we booked was very, very spacious, as well as the bathroom. The room was very clean, and complementary water, tea and coffee are always a bonus. Check-in went great, the girl who was working in that shift was really nice and friendly. I also liked the fact that parking for our car was free during our stay, and that the hotel is pet friendly.
