As i had to move my dates around and speaking to the hotel directly it was no issue. Super friendly and helpful. Staff were always ready to help in anyway and the owner a very nice person, same as all of the staff.

It is wonderful holidays apartment, on the first floor of the owners house. Everything in the apartment was sparkling, very well done, very cozy. The bed was super comfortable, the surrounding is very quiet, which provides good tight sleep. Bathroom is amazing, I would love to have one like this at my home. The hosts are very nice and communicative, it was a pleasure to meet them.

Absolutely amazing and relaxing stay from start to finish. The hosts and staff were delightful to deal with and nothing was ever too much of a problem. We had two very large apartments which were immaculate and offered beautiful views of the forest, plus a double. All rooms were spotless and well designed. The breakfast included both cooked and continental options, and the breakfast room was very comfortable. Don’t forget to use the sauna on the top floor, it’s decor and luxurious design was also perfect.

We had the great pleasure of visiting Engel 16 in Gutach, and from the very first moment we felt truly welcome. Astrid and Victor greeted us warmly with champagne and gave us an excellent introduction to the Black Forest area, especially the many beautiful hiking routes. They were always smiling, attentive, and genuinely kind. Victor, always smiling and polite, prepared the meals himself with the finest ingredients — and every dish was simply outstanding. Each morning, the breakfast buffet was perfectly prepared and ready for us, a wonderful way to start the day. Astrid made sure we enjoyed the perfect drinks and hospitality throughout our stay, which made us feel truly at home. All in all, Engel 16 is a beautiful and peaceful place with fantastic food and outstanding service. Thank you so much, Astrid and Victor, for this unforgettable stay! The daily breakfast was delicious and a wonderful start to our days. The accommodations were lovely and comfortable, with a nice bathroom, desk area, lounge area and comfortable sleeping. The historic aspect was charming and unique - it felt like a very special place. We enjoyed a fantastic gourmet evening dinner in the upscale Adler Restaurant - even if you don't stay in the hotel, go to the restaurant! It was a complete treat!

    Good location in the nice village of Oberwolfach. All is very clean, friendly hosts and staff. We also had dinner in the restaurant: excellent food, 3 different meals and a starter, all very tasty and good quality. Good and solid breakfast, nothing fancy, but all you need.
