A quaint little town with an artist's flair. The Passiontheater is definitely worth a visit, the walk down through the streets visiting artisans and shops is such a treat. Don't miss St. Peter and Paul church. We had planned to visit the Alpine coaster but spent too much time just walking around the town. We even stopped, out of curiosity, to eat at a Mexican restaurant. It was pretty good! If you're looking for the quintessential Bavarian mountain village to spend a week or two (or even a few days), Oberammergau is your place. The village has a unique history and so picturesque. The rooms had an upgrade not too long agoo and are WAY better than the current booking.com pictures suggest. We booked the family room which turned out to be the suite just outside the hotel (on the same grounds, just not connected) which was totally awesome! Big and freshly renovated/built. Exceptional. Would totally come back here again and also recommend to others!
