the staff were AMAZING. so accommodating. We initially booked a non-AC room because we didn’t know the hotel had AC available. We were sweltering. So we asked for any fan or anything and they actually upgraded us at minimal cost and we moved to an AC room. The staff stayed after their shift to assist us with this. Really above and beyond. They were friendly too

Everything was PERFECT, my husband and I loved it! The city is incredibly romantic, close to the Bastei Brücke trail. The staff was really nice, the room was beautiful, and the installations incredible. We used the sauna every evening and it was really nice to relax after so much walking. I have to say the breakfast was great, but the dinner in the restaurant was extraordinary! We also brought our corgi puppy and it went very well.

Great hotel with a great view. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. An incredibly relaxing stay. Food was excellent, both at the dinner and in the included breakfast. They even offered a vegan option at both mealtimes, which were brilliant. The spa was great, and open to all guests throughout the majority of the day. The saunas make for an ideal rest after a hike through the surrounding landscape. If you're walking the Malerweg, it's well worth a stop here to recuperate for a night.

There is so much that I might run out of space. The owner has an incredible eye for detail. Everything exudes harmony and is tailored to the guests needs. The food is amazing. We ate at the restaurant twice. Incredible! The rooms are decorated country style. Lot s of natural wood around. The bathroom is just the right size and well thought through. Complimentary water is served in as still, medium, or fully carbonated. I totally recommend this place. Owners and staff are very friendly. We’ll be back :)

Everything was wonderful: the view from the window, breakfast, the food in the restaurant, the proximity to the river and the mountains. The bed was separated from the rest of the room and far from the bathroom, that is very nice. My husband had his birthday during the stay and the hotel congratulated him with a nice gift. It's an excellent hiking place, recommended for families with children, dogs - especially during the weekdays when you can enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. The Elba is beautiful, there are nice walking/ cycling routes all around, the top of the hill is half an hour walk, sunsets/sunrises are stunning.

Loved the quaint little town with access to such beautiful nature. The Bastei route gets really busy so the earlier you go, the better. The Bastei bridge is not the only beautiful route in the area though and its definitely worth it to explore the other routes more. Personally I loved the approach via the Swedish holes more. Also walk along the river past the route that goes up to Lillienstein, beautiful views with a scenic walk. Restaurants in the area can be pricey but the Imbiss is a good option. We did self catering and was able to buy a few basic supplies for soup from the town shop and a few goodies for breakfast. We stayed for 4 nights but would definitely recommend more to explore the area and in summer partake in more activities.

Breakfast had a nice selection with coffee and cream already at the table reserved for your room Hotel is close to the train station within a 3 minute walk. They give you a ticket for the ferry to explore the other side of the river where the Bastei is located The hotel features an excellent restaurant with delicious food. Staff were friendly and helpful

Very convenient location for a visit to Saxon Switzerland including the Bastei Bridge and Dresden is also within half an hour by train. Very close to the S-bahn station "Kurort Rathen". Good breakfast and friendly, welcoming staff. Free access to the model railway park is a nice bonus.

Comfortable room with plenty of windows and views (of the town, not the mountains). Fan included with the room, helping a lot for keeping the room cool. Excellent access for hiking. Good breakfast and decent food in the hotel restaurant overall.

We had a spacious appartment, and could relax in swimming pool and wellness. Nice trip with the ferry to reach the hotel, and perfect starting point for a hike, walk or run along the river or into the hills (to Basteibrücke).
